Braves Have Added More Than You Think

There has been plenty of buzz this spring about the new faces the Braves have added by way of trade and free agency. And rightly so. Derek Lowe, Kenshin Kawakami, Javier Vazquez, and Garrett Anderson, among others, signify a major upgrade to last year’s injury depleted squad. But if you think these four players represent [...]

Braves Sign Anderson

The Braves and Garrett Anderson have come to terms on a one year deal worth 2.5 million dollars. Anderson, who hit .293 with 15 HR in 145 games for the Angels last season, holds a .296 career batting average. Anderson is expected to platoon in left field with Matt Diaz, but he gives the Braves a contact hitter who seems to come through in clutch situations. "Last season, he...

As for other teams that could pursue Anderson, the Rays are another possibility...

Reggie, Reggie

Our offense has been working really well and Reggie Willits has been a big part of that. When our offense is working it starts at the top. Vlady is great no matter what, but he is really dangerous with guys on base. We need to get runners on in front of him so that he can really do his damage. Reggie has been great getting on base and it has made a huge difference. We know that...

Honoring Scioscia

Last night they honored Scioscia with a scoreboard tribute and we were all over him in the dugout. They played that Sinatra song My Way, which is a little slow. Garrett Anderson asked if someone had died. He was really busting us up. You could tell Scioscia was surprised and a little embarrased. We tried to get him to take a curtain call but he wouldn't do it. We were definitely...

The Gatorade Commercial

Have you seen the Gatorade commercial I'm in? I finally saw it a few days ago. The whole thing was set up through our front office. It's not like I tried out for the part. I'm on the mound and Derek Jeter's on first trying to steal. Garrett Anderson is playing first base, Howie Kendrick is at second and Shea Hillenbrand is in there too. Derek is a great guy. I'...
