Northwestern's sippin' on some sizzurp
After a solid win against Michigan, Penn State takes on a spunky Northwestern team sitting at a respectable 6-2, although their biggest win came against Indiana. Penn State should win this game but Northwestern has a solid chance and they always beat someone when you least expect it *cough-Iowa-cough*. This week's questions are...

GBMWolverine: Preview PSU – Michigan — An Atypical Match-up
Usually, in the past, when Michigan has played Penn State, two highly ranked teams with good line play have made for some tough, down in the dirt games. Michigan, with a standard pro set, was viewed as the more modern offensive set. Galen Hall demonstrated last year that...

The Sky is Not Falling
He haunts my dreams
I think I’m more frustrated with the reaction to last night’s game than I was with the game itself. And that’s not something I would’ve expected at 10:30 last night.
But apparently, to an unfathomably large percentage of the Penn State fanbase, a tough loss to a damn good Iowa team, one that matches up impeccably with a young, rebuilding...

Penn State Recruiting 9/22/10
Conner Crowell [LB from MD] visited for the Kent State game. He said he enjoyed his visit. Right now he is down to Penn State, Ohio State, and Stanford. With UNC possibly squeaking in there. Visited OSU for the UM game. Reason he visited PSU for such a low profile PSU game was so he could get to know more about Penn state when the atmosphere isn’t all 100% football...

LBU Staff Reactions: Alabama 24, Penn State 3
BUTCH DILL / Associated Press
Now that the high emotions of Saturday night and Sunday have passed, the LBU staff gives its own takes on Penn State's loss to Alabama. Sorry for the delay. Enjoy...
Galen
The end result pretty much turned out like I thought it would but I didn’t think Penn State would play so poorly. When you play the defending national champs and top...

Penn State Releases Official Depth Chart
With the season opener just 6 days away, Penn State has finally released an official depth chart. There are a few nuggets of very interesting information, but in all, it doesn’t tell us much that we didn’t already know, and it certainly doesn’t shed much light on the as-yet unsettled quarterback competition.
Nuggets:
At QB, it still seems to be a three-man race...

Preseason Depth Chart and 2010 Roster Updates
Less than three weeks until kickoff, folks.
With that, I thought a quick update to the roster and depth chart was in order.
I'll do a fall camp update later this week.
Roster
Here are some new weights for some players since preseason practice began: Silas Redd [5-10, 202], Stephfon Green [5-10, 200], Jack Crawford [6-5, 268 to 272], Stephon Morris [5-8 1/2, 186...

NCAA 11: Clips of a Penn State dyansty
I guess it's been a boring enough weekend for me to think about NCAA 11 more than once. So here's a string of YouTube clips by madscientist06, featuring the first parts (including two games) of a Penn State offline dynasty in NCAA Football 11.
Just one few pre-viewing thought... I really hate the generic FCS (I-AA) team ******** that EA has done in recent seasons. You...

Penn State keeps BCS dream alive with big win at Michigan State
Graham Zug stretches for the end-zone.
If the BCS were decided by the events that unfolded this weekend, Penn State (10-2, 6-2 Big Ten) would be heading to a big bowl game before Iowa or Oklahoma State. The Nittany Lions jumped all over Michigan State (6-6, ...

D'Anton Lynn doesn't not blame Paterno's obstinacy
Joe Paterno has morphed over the last few seasons, from a coach that used to micromanage nearly every working part of his team, to one that delegates control to his coaching staff. Overall, it's worked very well. But there's one part of this team on which Paterno still rests an acutely stubborn, heavy hand -- the punt return team. In a conference call with reporters (BWI) yesterday...
