Several news outlets, including ESPN.com, quoted NFL commissioner Roger Goodell calling rookie salaries "ridiculous." Case in point being Jake Long's $30 million guaranteed before the kids sips water on the sideline.

Draft day darlings have been getting increasingly inflated contracts since before Goodell rode into the commissioners...

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has stated that the current money being thrown at early first round rookies is "ridiculous". It is hard to disagree with him. When you have Jake Long becoming the highest paid Offensive Lineman as a rookie with $30 million guaranteed on a $57.75 million contract over 5 years.

Jake Long's dad spent 30 years working for General Motors, but the first thing Jake is going to buy with his new contract is a Ford truck. That's cold. Skipping your pick strategy

There is some discussion that the Tuna might not select anyone with the Dolphins' number one pick. Miami could hold onto the card and let the Rams go on the clock. Then they can jump in front of any team after that to make their selection. This could save them a bundle of cash and they could still get a top pick.

Darren McFadden runs a 4.27 forty
If OT Jake Long didn't impress you yesterday, maybe RB Darren McFadden will. McFadden just ran a 4.27 forty-yard dash. This right now is his unofficial time, but it looks like McFadden didn't hurt himself by running at the combine. Matter of fact, he might have made himself the top pick with someone looking to trade up to get him. (Somewhere, Jerry Jones is drooling.)
