If You’re Going To Play Both Murphy and Reed…
Maybe someone can help me out on this, but if both Jeremy Reed and Daniel Murphy are in the lineup, shouldn’t you play Reed in leftfield and Murphy at first base?
Wouldn’t it make sense to be defensively flawed at one position rather than two?
Jeremy Reed is a fine defensive outfielder, and in his career he has less [...]

Avoiding the Inevitable, roster move....
The Mets have avoided making a tough decision by making an easy move that just satisfies the roster temporarily. The Mets have sent Nick Evans down to make room for Gary Sheffield, Evans was scheduled to be sent down on April 11th to make room for Livan Hernandez anyway. So really all the Mets have done is stalled, by next week they need to decide who has to go. They could carry...

Reed impresses at 1B
Jeremy Reed was a first basemen in college and his athleticism landed him in center field. As he filled out he became more of a corner outfielder and a spot starter in center but has maintained that he can still play first. Last year Seattle liked what they saw of him at first during practice but only ended up using him there once in an actual game.It was Reed's bat that made...

Jeremy Reed Seals The Deal With Big Day
Jeremy Reed has just about sewn up a spot on the opening day roster as the fourth outfielder.
Today against the Braves, Reed had a banner day going 4-5 with two runs scored and four ribbies. Ironically, he wasn't even supposed to play today as Carlos Beltran was slated to start but was scratched minutes before the game and replaced by Reed.
Jeremy Reed is now batting .426 and...

Teams interested in Sully....
Cory Sullivan was the starting center fielder for the Colorado Rockies in 2005-2006, but lost his job as the Rockies tried to find more offense out of the position. The Mets signed him during the off-season to a split contract, meaning that he was guaranteed a 40 man roster spot but the Mets could use his remaining options. Barring a dramatic shift in performances Sully has been...

Will Sean Green Be Traded To Upgrade Another Position?
One of the players the Mets got yesterday along with J.J. Putz and Jeremy Reed, was relief pitcher Sean Green.
Green is a right handed side-armer who specializes in inducing ground balls.
Dan Graziano believes that he could be flipped in another deal to fill another hole. Here is what he wrote on his blog this evening.
Minaya is already getting calls from other teams, including the...
