MARK JOHNSON RUMORS & GOSSIP

Waiting for Gryzlo

Geovany Soto is supposedly in Chicago today so Cubs team orthopedist Stephen Gryzlo can take a look at that sore shoulder. If the defending NL ROY lands on the Disabled List, the logical move would be to summon 33-year-old Mark Johnson from Iowa. The lefthanded-hitting Johnson, who was originally drafted by the White Sox back in '94, went 4-for-19 at Mesa this spring. Over...

Soto Could Miss Time

According to multiple reports on Wednesday night, Geovany Soto will have his right shoulder examined in Chicago on Thursday by Dr. Stephen Gryzlo. The report from the Sun-Times titled the "DL becomes a possibility for Soto" stated Soto does "not have a strong feeling on when he might return." Top Ten Beltway Boxers, 1985-2005!

I had a lot of fun writing this article about the boxers I feel were/are the best in the area from 1985-2006. Please let me know what the Yardbarker community is saying. While looking through my collection of old boxing magazines, I came across the March 1996 edition of The Ring. This issue had a special section called "A Tale of 10 Cities" in which different boxing writers...
