Thursday Quick Hits: No Suspension for Mark Ortmann
Mark Ortmann will not be suspended and has been cleared by the Big Ten to play on Saturday against Purdue. All I can say is that I’m glad there were no good replays of whatever happened, because Corey Liguet didn’t just start running funny on his own. It’s good that Michigan will have its starting [...]

Mark Ortmann Cleared to Play Against Purdue
After getting the attention of the Big Ten for his apparent shot to the midsection of Illinois player Cory Liuget after recovering Tate Forcier's fumble in the 4th quarter, OL Mark Ortmann will not be suspended or receive any sort of punishment (via AA.com)
It was widely speculated that Ortmann was guilty of at least doing something bad to Liuget. When the Illinois player...

Mark Ortmann Delivered A Low Blow to Corey Liuget
If you are a Michigan fan, after watching your team get beat up on by Illinois on Saturday to send you to 1-4 in Big Ten play this season, there probably aren’t many better ways to describe the feeling than comparing it to a punch to the groin. You usually don’t see it coming, and it hurts. For a while.
It can ruin your entire day.
Well, thanks to some video that’s popped...

Michigan linemen delivers a low blow
It was a bad Saturday for the Wolverines. Frankly, its been a bad year for them in general. The 1-6 Fighting Illini absolutely rolled over them in the second half en route to a 38-13 blowout.
And some of the Wolverines didn’t take it too well. Mark Ortmann, an offensive linemen decided when the going got [...]

Be careful around Mart Ortmann, Joe Adams when they get emotional
Michigan offensive lineman Mark Ortmann and Arkansas receivers Joe Adams were experiencing wildly different emotions Saturday: Ortmann watched his team melt down in the second half en route to its fourth straight Big Ten loss; Adams celebrated his return from a three-game absence attributed to "minor stroke" by bringing in two touchdowns in the Razorbacks' 63-27 laugher...

Unverified Voracity, Quickly
I'm headed out to Iowa City soon, so somewhat abbreviated today.
Get a bracelet. Phil Brabbs has just started his chemotherapy, which you can read about on his blog, and he's also offering up these stylish "cancer kicker" bracelets for the impossibly low suggested donation of $2:
You can get them by donating the funds (and possibly, you know, another five bucks...

Picture Pages: Cut It Up, Tate
Yet another in this site's series "counters to the scrape exchange."
This one doesn't take a whole lot of explanation. Michigan's in its H-back set and Notre Dame in the nickel it used all day. It's first and ten on Michigan's field-goal drive right before halftime:
Michigan's going to run something I called a "QB counter"; it...

U-M eager to win, bury stench of 2008
Mark Ortmann is unclear on the size of Michigan Stadium: ""We let hundreds, if not thousands of people down last year." Or, actually, he may have been transcribed wrong.
On both sides, the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry is considered the best in college football

Postgame Quick Thoughts
Some of our unfiltered thoughts from the game:Tim and I both agreed that Threet looked much better than Sheridan again. He made better reads, better throws (for the most part), and even looked more authoritative on his runs. With a repertoire of two half games for each, I think Steven Threet
