Vanderbilt QB will miss bowl after ACL surgery

Vanderbilt quarterback Austyn Carta-Samuels will not play in the BBVA Compass Bowl on Jan. 4 after having surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee. Coach James Franklin said Monday that Carta-Samuels tore his ACL in a win Oct. 19 over Georgia and had surgery to repair his knee shortly after the regular season ended Nov. 30.
