Indiana kick returner and wide receiver Shane Wynn earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors, the conference announced Monday morning.
True freshman Shane Wynn opened the game with a 99-yard kickoff touchdown return, the first ever by an IU true freshman. It is the first for a Hoosier since Ray Fisher's 93-yarder at Northwestern on Oct. 24, 2009. Fisher was also the last Hoosier to take back an opening kickoff, racing 91 yards at Akron on Sept. 19, 2009.
Hoosiers freshman Shane Wynn took the opening kickoff, found a big hole in the middle and sprinted 99 yards untouched for the fourth-longest return in school history.
