The University of Wisconsin's women's rowing program was started in 1997, just a few years after the baseball program was terminated. "Too much wind around campus was the reason why baseball was replaced the lady rowers," according to a recent Madison graduate. "Of course," he continued, "the rowers have to go head on to the bitter cold wind. Those dumb rowers."
