Former Olympic Cyclist Davis Phinney Recovering from Brain Surgery
American cycling icon Davis Phinney underwent brain surgery last week in Palo Alto, Calif., to relieve Parkinson's disease symptoms. Phinney, 48, was the first American on an American based cycling team to win a stage of the Tour de France in 1986. Among his countless accolades, earning a bronze medal in the 100k team time trial in the 1984 Olympics. Phinney is hoping to return to the Olympic games this summer to support his son, Taylor a likely would-be member of the US Olympic cycling team.
