Given the headlines that dominated media this week, you knew this was coming- more parody of disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong and Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o. Both stories involve cancer and foundations that raised money for cancer research. Saturday Night Live did an accurate job spoofing Armstrong as an ornery bastard who gets defensive and combative with anyone who accuses him of wrongdoing.
They portrayed Te’o as a really dumb jock, even though he’s an academic All-American who graduated early. But that doesn’t mean he’s street smart, and he’s always been a boring and dull interview. Te’o has never come off as interesting and articulate with the media so the imitation works.
