"Sunday Night Football" has a new voice. NBC announced Tuesday that Carrie Underwood is replacing Faith Hill as the frontwoman of SNF's theme song. Last month, Hill decided to part ways with the Peacock Network after six years. Underwood will begin her new duties on Sept. 8, when the Cowboys and Giants meet in the first "Sunday Night Football" broadcast of 2013. “I am thrilled to be a part of NBC’s Sunday Night Football and am so honored they asked me,” Underwood said in a statement. “I have always loved football season, and it is so exciting to now become part of it every Sunday night!” The 30-year-old Underwood, who's collected six Grammy Awards and won American Idol in 2005, performed the national anthem at Super Bowl XLIV.
