We’ll admit it: a bowl of cereal or a granola bar is our default breakfast when time is short or laziness levels are high... and sometimes the default becomes the norm. I mean, who wants to put together a whole hot breakfast and then go to work for eight hours? (And then on the weekends, it’s more like, “I’m not making breakfast; today is my day off!”) However, because we’ll always be a little lazy, let’s break out the crock pot and make our favorite appliance do most of the work. Although the recipe doesn’t use whole biscuits, the technique is actually quite brilliant, because it turns biscuits and gravy into a side dish, so there’s still room for eggs, hash browns, or any other breakfast items.

For instance, you could swap out the ham for vegetarian sausage or bacon, you could add some green or red peppers for extra flavor, or even throw in a Cajun or Creole seasoning to spice things up.
