On a lighter note, Justin Bieber and Elisabeth Hasselbeck faced off for a live Segway challenge. Bieber uses a Segway to get around backstage at his concerts, so he’s a pro at operating one. Donning a helmet, Hasselbeck said that she received prior instruction, but she was clearly out of her league in the race. Justin Bieber beat The View host easily, even racing backwards at one point.

The highlight of Justin Bieber’s appearance on The View was when he sang several verses of “Never Say Never” a cappella. The hosts and audience swooned. After his performance, Whoopi Goldberg said, “There are older women in this audience going wild for the boy.” One elderly woman held up a sign that read, “Seniors for Bieber.’ Goldberg added, “In my book, you’re number one.”
