Her Majesty isn't messing around when it comes to this summer's Olympics. She's called on none other than Agent 007 himself.
James Bond will help launch the summer games by appearing in a video with Queen Elizabeth II, who is 85 years old, at Buckingham Palace, then parachuting into the Olympic stadium at Stratford, East London, for the Opening Ceremonies.
Bond will be played by the latest 007 actor, Daniel Craig, in a short film called "The Arrival." The special appearances celebrate both the queen's Diamond Jubilee (recognizing her 60th year on the throne) and the 50th anniversary of the Bond franchise.
Bond is no stranger to riveting performances, and his spy career has also included quite a few instances of the hero taking on sports -- traditional or otherwise.
While this summer's Olympic Games likely won't have any events that involve jumping from horses to airplanes or fist-fighting in the sky, the competitors could take some cues from how Bond finds creative ways to execute his missions.
