President Obama appeared the Jay Leno show and among other things chatted about the NBA Lockout negotiations and his concerns about the league having a season at all. He said:
Well look. If you look at the NFL, they were able to settle theirs and I think they understood. Players: “We’re making millions of dollars. Owners: “Some of us are worth billions of dollars.” We should be able to figure out how to split a nine-billion-dollar pot so that our fans, who are allowing us to make all of this money, can actually have a good season. And I think the owners and the basketball players need to think the same way.
President Obama spoke also on the prospect of no NBA season at all.
I’m concerned about that. They need to remind themselves that the reason they are so successful is because a whole bunch of folks out there love basketball. Basketball’s actually done well, but these kinds of lockouts … a lot of times take it takes a long time to recover from.

Obama had a few words with Jay Leno last night about the NBA lockout. He refused to say whether he thought the players or owners were right. He goes on to say that he is concerned about the whole season being lost.
He then declines to pick a team in the world series, because his White Sox are not playing.
Way to plead the fifth Obama. Not that we give a rats ass what...

The NBA lockout has been hard on a lot of people – fans, arena workers and players for starters. Apparently it’s also been hard on the POTUS.
President Obama has previously mentioned his heartbreak over the lockout, and went on to discuss it further during his appearance on The Tonight Show.
JAY LENO: Well, I know you are a huge basketball fan. This lockout, this is really...
President Obama got a taste of L.A. traffic Tuesday morning when his motorcade slowed to a crawl as he headed to NBC's Burbank studios to tape an interview with Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show."
Disappointment comes from various angles, deserved or otherwise. Should we have stayed cynics from the beginning? Should we have expected more from a President who clearly has little power to drive legislature up the relative kilt of a lobbyist-mad government? Should we ask more from a man who seems above a mess like the Jay Leno Show (formerly 'The Tonight Show')? Shouldn...
