First Cuts:
NCAA Football 11 hit consoles in mid-July, so forgive this review for being a little bit delayed. The timing seems right though, as EA just announced a second major patch to the game.
The consensus seems to be that this year's edition is slightly better than previous seasons -- Metacritic has it checking in a few points higher than each of the last few seasons -- but I wouldn't call it a revolutionary step in the game's evolution. It felt more like a logical and necessary step, and sometimes that's good enough.
The reason why I describe this season as the "next logical" step is that I'd argue the biggest addition was the Locomotion System, something that was present in Madden NFL 10. To have something in one of the football games and not the other created an odd one-off experience, so this was inevitable. Of course, let's see if that line of thinking is followed next season with the Strategy Pad from Madden NFL 11 that seems to be such a hot ...
