Shawn Kemp's Kids:
Sorry pops, but this dunk seems pretty damn impressive to me.
Although the Blakers...er...Clippers are an afterthought once again this season, Griffin continues to put on quite a show every night. While Shawn Kemp admits to being a Blake fan, he thought the Kia dunk was the weakest in the entire contest. Dad went on to say during the interview that he could still dunk over a couple of Smart cars. Doubtful, but I guess anything is possible. I mean, "Two and a Half Men" has somehow been a boob tube juggernaut for nearly a decade.
Despite my distaste for his sitcom, Charlie Sheen has always been one of my favorite actors. In fact, "Platoon" and "Wall Street" are still in the SDSG All-time Top 50. Speaking of flicks, here are a few random thoughts about last night's Academy Awards:
Jennifer Lawrence - Prior to yesterday, I never heard of her before. However, I'm definitely buying Lawrence stock right now. Although only 20, I'd say Lawrence has a chance to be the next "It" girl in Hollywood for at least the next five years.
Aaron Sorkin - My man walked off with a much deserved Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar for "The Social Network." I've said it before and I'll say it again. Sorkin is pound for pound the best screenwriter (television and film) in the world. Even though I have never been on Facebook, I loved about 90% of "The Social Network." It was a riveting film and deserved more accolades.
Toy Story 3 - By far the best of the trilogy. I only nodded off once while watching and that's saying something. Usually I doze though animated films but this one held my interest. If there ever is a "Toy Story 4" count me in.
Inception - Christopher Nolan certainly deserved a Best Director nomination. Although not entirely my cup of tea, the movie was innovative and visually spectacular.
Grown Ups - Congratulations to Adam Sandler & Co. for winning Best Picture. Well deserved guys...well deserved. Wait, what? "The King's Speech" received more votes than "Grown Ups"? It's an outrage! Where is the justice?
Talk about mailing it in. While there were certainly a few good scenes, Sandler, Rock, Spade, James and Schneider must be laughing all the way to the bank. Something tells me three isn't going to be a sequel.
