Zynga, clearly hitting the ground running in 2012, is releasing its second new game in as many days, Scramble With Friends, a successor to the mobile hit Words With Friends.
Like the first title, which gained more attention after Alec Baldwin’s run in with a flight attendant last month, SWF is a word game. While WWF is a Scrabble-like word-building game, SWF challenges users to find words in a jumbled grid. The title is based on one of Zynga’s earliest games, Scramble, which has been downloaded by 2.5 million Facebook users.
Zynga, which introduced its first hidden objects game, Hidden Chronicles on Wednesday, planned to make SWF available at Apple’s App Store Thursday morning. (At press time, the link wasn’t functional.) Like other With Friends titles from Zynga, SWF lets you challenge Facebook friends to games. The title also uses the same dictionary and has similar scoring as well as in-game chat.
