SEC Missed The Mark

Clemson is a University in the Southeastern US.  It  should be in the SEC (Southeastern Conference).  This past season, Clemson was 2-1 against SEC football teams.  Seems to me this prestigious old University belongs in the SEC ahead of Missouri or Texas schools - neither of which is in the South East.  Clemson enjoys several natural rivalries with SEC schools, such as Auburn, Georgia, LSU, South Carolina, and Tennessee.  Why not include this University?
