Derrick Rose Out ~ Bulls Aspirations Still Alive?

Even with the Cubs and the White Sox winning on Sunday ~ Chicago's baseball victories were overshadowed by the injury of the Bulls Derrick Rose. A confirmed torn ACL which will leave him on the sideline and off the floor for approximately six months. This certainly puts new light on the Bulls future success. Derrick's surgery will be postponed until the swelling goes down ~ that in itself can take 3-4 weeks. He will be with his team tonight as they play the 76er's in Chicago, but will remain at home for their road trip this Friday and Saturday to Philadelphia.

The Bulls have succeeded during this condensed and very hard schedule ~ not many days off in between games, if any at all. The rapid 66 game schedule has certainly taken it's toll on a few players. Even though, this is the hardest situation to consume and many try to rationalize Rose's injury. He has been out 27 games due to one injury or another ~ was this the straw that broke the camel's back? Was he truly given enough time to heal from one before he sustained another? "They" say not ~ but as his injuries progressed up and down his body ~ sure seemed like the links were indicated.

Derrick has always been an aggressive player and giving no thought about possible injury to himself. He has always played hard and put his best effort out there for his team. He's not one to just sit idle without trying his best to get back on the floor. This time around ~ he's going to have to heed for his body to heal ~ and not in just a few days. However, he will work during his rehab just as hard as he does while playing. May prayers go out to him for an 100% healthy return.

As mentioned before ~ the Bulls have had to pull together without the "D Rose" on many occasions and have come out with wins to their credit. Now is the time, more than ever, to play their best ~ their hardest ~ and be victorious during the playoffs to have a shot at the Championship.

  • Morning Elichap,
Some players just get freak injuries more than others and I hope D Rose recovers. I still think the Bulls are a few star players away from winning the title much like the late 1980s when Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen were young and couldnt get past Detroit until they got some more help. Miami is their main roadblock now. Lets see what happens with Rose and the Bulls in the future. Talk soon and have a great day. Bratman
  • Well ~ the way the Bulls "didn't" play last night ~ I have to wonder if one player really can make such a differnce. They certainly looked pathetic ~ outscored in the third quarter 36-14 ~ hard to win with no defense. One day at a time. ") You have a good day. Always, Eli-B
