BAN THE FAN

Ban the fan?

Yes, ban the fan. Specifically, the Philadelphia Philly fan and below lists the reasons why.

1. The difference between passion and anger is what can take sports fan-ships from fun to scary. If you come to cheer on your team in Philly-land, beware that your life is in danger! Gender, age make no difference to the fanatics, as you are the enemy #1, with a bull-zie on your forehead.
Looks of disgust would be getting by easy, as threats, screaming to get the f-out of Philly and my favorite the questions that the Philly fan has no intention of letting you answer.
For example, from a personal experience a Philly fanatic stopped me and yelled, “HOW DOES IT FELL TO HAVE TO BUY A TEAM?”
Before my mouth even opens this person continued, even louder with, “THAT TEAM THAT SUCKS AND HOPE YOU LIKE TO LOSE. WELL, BETTER GET USED TO IT A-HOLE!!”
This can be followed by spitting on you or even pushing. It is not fun and doesn’t represent Philadelphia as a city very well. Uneducated, classless and unruly is how I would describe inmates in prison or fans of the Phillies.

2. Yankees have Jay Z and Alicia Keyes preform, Mary J and John Legend singing the National Anthem during the world series games hosted in the Bronx.

The Phillies had ‘The Monster Mash’ preformed by some zombies and the Phanatic and GLEE sing the National Anthem. GLEE is a TV show I have never heard of, ever.

I had the pleasure of being at both games. The pleasure being the Yankees won both games. Maybe the Philles fans are so embarrassed by this performance that the anger becomes justified.

Please, click the video below to see for yourself. This is straight from my camera so it is original. Click on the title....

‘The Monster Mash’

3. During the games there are fans everywhere that will heckle a player from time to time. Every baseball game has the fan that is head to toe in the home teams apparel but spends the entire nine innings, winning or losing just heckling the other team.

In Citizens Bank Park that is the majority of the fans. The negative energy is exhausting to listen too. Please note that every ballpark has this fan but no one like them anywhere.
Well, try thousands of “GOOD JOB AROD, GO AND F(*# MANDONNA! YOU F’N HOMO; DID YOU REMEMBER TO JUICE-UP BEFORE THE GAME?”
The chanting of “YANKEES SUCK” is the Philly fans definition of cheering on their team. Understand that is going to happen but when its all that happens, thats when it is a problem. The problem being the team who is on your jersey, hat and underwear is losing.
As the saying goes, “Press is Press” and can’t feel so good if your playing on the field at home.

4. A continuation of the above banter or bullshit, whatever you want to call it.

We cannot forget about the towel spinning. The team’s color is red and it screams on it’s on. The need to freak out by spinning the red and white towels like your having a seizure is just annoying.
This is distracting to everyone who is involved, even the other fanatics involved in this routine. It’s like looking at someone wearing one of those dizzy t-shirts that you can only handle looking at for five seconds. There is no way this can help anyone, except the people who have the job of handing these out for free as you walk into the ballpark.
Other teams (aka Mets) are guilty of this act of god-knows-what and this fully applies to them too.

5. The Phillies Mascot is the strangest creature I have ever seen.
Wikipedia defines 'the Phanatic' as, a fat furry green creature that somewhat resembles a bird from the rear view with a cylindrical beak containing a tongue that sticks out.

As a native New Yorker, the Phanatic boggles my mind. This thing runs up and down the top of the Phillies dugout, shaking its fat tummy in an attempt to get fans into the game.
Shockley, just a google search away was the history of this Phanatic. Apparently, the Phillies fans in the last 70's were so unruly that other teams were complaining and the amount of fights fans caused was overwhelming. This was happening regardless of the Phillies success as a team.
So, the solution to this problem was the Phanatic. This mascot's job came with the hopes into attracting families to the games. The Phanatic’s presence has not changed a thing for the Phillies; except maybe the astro-turf of Veteran’s Stadium to a now the grass at the new Citizens Bank Park.
The Phanatic has been around for a long time but that is about all he will go down in history for, as not for any change in the spirit of his fans.

That was my first experience going to a Phillies home game and hopefully my last. As a fan who has been to countless Red Sox games in the Bronx and two at Fenway Park that I would not be surprised at all.

Well, I was completely WRONG.

If my Yankees play there again I will go because they need support and protection. This time at least I will be more prepared.

For Phillies fans out there who come to the Bronx in Phillies garb, you will never look the same again. Before no one cared seeing you, now thats changed. Just a heads-up but considering everything, New Yorkers have bigger fish to fry then the Phanatic Philly Fans.

You must make Philadelphia so proud!

Great article lady, I agree completely. Allow me to give my opinion of what Yankee Haters are. Wanna Be's, Sour Grapes, Sore Losers and Ignorant Morons(and a lot worse but I'll keep it clean). The Yankees play within the rules of the game, they do what any other organization could do if they had the balls to try. Another thing these dimwits say is we buy championships, really!? If that were true we would win the World Series every year, but we don't. So what does that say about that moronic opinion? Because of the collective bargaining agreement many of the smaller market teams get millions from the teams that have more money to spend, like the Yankees, Angels, Dodgers, Red Sox and YES the Phillies,(#7 in highest payroll this season), just to name a few. One in particular, the Pirates screw their fans by not spending it on top notch talent, the cheap ownership pockets it. And the fans stand still for it. When they get good players through their farm systems they just trade them away, look at the Marlins over the years another perfect example. The Yankees have been a WINNING organization since their inception and have always developed home grown talent. Hell the entire middle infield is home grown as well as Melky Cabrera and many of their pitching staff, Rivera, Hughes and Chamberlain to name a few. They have players who have worn the pinstripes who are among some of the greatest to ever play the game, no amount of money gave them their God given talent. You could start an entire Yankees wing in Cooperstown with names like Gehrig, Berra, Mantle, Rizzuto, Dimaggio and on and on and on. WE OWE NOBODY AN APOLOGY!! I actually love when the haters start mouthing off, it's amusing because they are so incredibly ignorant, to which they would respond, "Was' ignant mean man?". They root for a loser or a team that rarely wins and they don't know any other way to react except with hate, but I wouldn't want it any other way. In this World Series we saw Andy Pettite win his 18th postseason game,(#1 ALL TIME), and he won the decisive game in every series. We saw an historic performance by Hideki Matsui and Derek 'Homegrown' Jeter amass his 175th postseason hit, (#1 ALL TIME). So when Yankee Haters get on a roll I just smile because it is so amusing the way it gets under their skin. They must lead very boring lives for this to cause so much negative emotion. Hatred is such a wasted emotion, it turns the heart black. But what can you expect from fans who boo Santa Claus and booed when Michael Irvin lay prone on the ground and not moving, possibly paralyzed by a vicious hit. And I realize it is not every Eagles fan, but let's face it, it is the vast majority. GO YANKEES!!!! And to all the Yankee Haters....kiss my ass!!

Noticed I said every Eagles fan when I should have said Phillies fan....hmmm, must be a reason why.

Wow, I think you two need to get over your issues with Philly. Let me start by saying I am not a Yankee Hater. I actually respect that organization and the accomplishments over the years. I have said many times in the yard that the best team won the series. Look, we all have bad experiences in another teams stadium. I am sure there are numerous story's from Philly fans at the way they were harassed in NY. My point is you guys won and you need to celebrate your Yankees and stop with all the Philly hate you have. Talk about negativity, this article is full of it. Once again congrats to the World Series Yanks for a great season.

Fill4ever, your not one of he people who that type of article is directed at, I know your stance on the Yankees. My point is why do people waste so much time hating the Yankees. And I never said in my response to ladypinstripes that I hate the Phillies or even Yankee Haters for that matter. I understand that you look at what the Yankees have done in their history and respect it. An example of that for me is that I do not like the Lakers, but I respect the banners hanging from their rafters, the Celtic as well. Be cool man, I know where your coming from.

So what would the lady expect in the Brave New World? True class went out the window around the time that Gareth Martinis, was getting a slap on the wrist from Daddy. It isn`t just the Phillies fans, or the Yankee fans, its all of the undereducated, barely literate, greed-fixated populace.
Its drunken females at a Lions game, beer can throwers at a Nascar race, and similar types at a Mets-Reds game. Its brawls in the seats at an NBA game and fist-fights on the ice at an NHL-brawl. Its the fans cheering on the fighters, blood-soaked, at an MMA match. The thirst for the violent is everywhere, exactly as the Bible predicted.
Its the Terminator, RoboCop, Judge Dredd, and Mad Max, glorifying lawlessness and violence.
We can`t put the brakes on it seems, for every call for the moral is shouted down. We are addicted to the violent, the prurient, the merely tasteless, and the comedian who uses the most vulgar language. Its everywhere and society is drowning in it. To say its Philly fans, ignores the selfsame Yankee fans, and the Seahawks fans, and those of the Bulls, the Bears, the Suns, the Heat, et al.

But to criticize the Phanatic, now that`s going too far.

You wish you had the Phanatic as your mascot instead of this retard. Oh wait, you don't even have a mascot anymore.

    • pubicreign
Only made it through a paragraph.....g@y. How many more excuses to you have to provide to clean yourself from easily admitting your franchise purchased the series. Seriously?

The One, your kidding right, Jeter has more trim than any one man should ever have. One of the most eligible and sought after bachelors in NY, that's funny dude.

As a Red Sox fan, congratulations to the Yankees...

But I couldn't help but notice two things...

    1) There were a lot of empty seats as far as I could tell.

    2) The Pedro "Whose Your Daddy" cheer didn't make total sense because if you go back in history, Pedro actually can back in relief in game seven of the "Whose Your Daddy" series and beat the Yankees?
    • giantsrepeat
I agree about the "Whose Your Daddy Cheer" Raz, I wish the fans wouldn't do it. It is after all childish and it's not going to throw a veteran like Pedro Martinez off his game. He probably eats it up with a spoon. The better team just won, that's all. And Phillie fans should not bring up payroll, I believe they were 6th or 7th in highest payroll in baseball this year. And the Yankees have spent plenty before and came up short, so where does the buying a World Series come into play, it doesn't. And the haters really know that too. Thanks for the congrats dude.

      G-Peat,

Tough loss to the Chargers. I don't think Coughlin agreed with the run call on 3rd down.
    • giantsrepeat
Yeah we have had a rough run this last 4 weeks, but at least the eagles lost, that will always put a smile on my face.
