Barry Bonds Witchhunt Tightens The Noose

The Feds just laid another 14 counts of perjury and one count of obstruction on Mr. Barry Lamar Bonds, thus bringing the witchhunt to ridiculous levels. Good to see the Feds are hot on the case. You bastards. This action guarantees the following will happen in the next 2 years. 1. Bonds will go to jail. If Marion Jones got six months, Barry Lamar will get at least 24 months. 2. Baseball will erase Barry Lamar from the record books. FlyMaster won't forget you, Barry. 3. MLB will say they have solved the problem. McGwire, Giambi, Palmeiro, and all you others better breath a sigh of relief. Wow! The scourge of steroids is gone and in the meantime the War on Terror is failing, our current president has the lowest approval rating in history, gas prices are soaring, normal folks can't pay the mortgage, unemployment is on the rise, and the threat of a 72 year old President looms on the horizon. Well, at least we nailed that cheater Barry Lamar Bonds. FlyMaster Signing Off...For Now! www.sportsfly.com

    • Roger Maris who hit 61 dingers in 1961 He's the only player who hit over sixty without having his name tarnished. He did it the old fashioned way. He earned it.
  • Barry Bonds has yet to goto jail for steroids as has any other player that is STILL playing the game after saying they are sorry. Are you kidding me, the only thing worse than all of these players from the Mitchell report saying that they are sorry is the Commissioner, that is an owner, doing absolutely nothing about the confessions. I think the court should put the commissioner on the stand and ask him if he knew what was going on in his back yard and then put him in cuffs for a brief 6 month stay.

      He could be Vick's cellmate.
  • How bout war crimes against Bush Cheney? Is baseball really the focus here? And as for breaking records, batters on roids hit off of pitchers on roids. And baseball has allways been a game of cheating. Steal third?

That is the truth. Bonds is going to carry the whole steroid era to the slammer. One man's burden. Unfortunate.

Can you tell me what a steroids investigation has to do with a war in Iraq. Are the Al-Queda supplyiing these steroids to Barry. I bet Hank didn't do steroids and hit off of pitchers doing roids. Did he? Steal home?

Great, Bonds is a cheater, we ALL knew that. Maybe it is a bit ridiculous the way they go after this guy, but don't draw parallels between baseball and the state of the nation. If the Feds weren't going after him, that would have absolutely no positive impact on the War on Terror, people over-extending themselves to live in big houses, or the economy. Keep your political rants to yourself, this is a sports page/blog not an Obama rally. And FYI, unemployment has decreased the last 2 consecutive reports...Get a clue.

    • Funny I complained preveously about an Obama article at Yard Barker. Did you? Why do you assume I support him? And When Bonds is prosecuted it becomes politicle. Its the government stupid.

Bush and Cheney should be executed. Barry Bonds should suffer the Pete Rose treatment.
        • boogerking
I've changed my mind. Execute Bonds, too.
  • Linebacker51
Guys. Focus on the issue at hand.

What do alleged "war crimes" by the Bush administration have to do with Barry Bonds and steroids? If Barry Bonds lied under oath, regardless of what he lied about, then he will be dealt with accordingly.

If I committed a crime or broke a law, I can point my finger and scream about bigger criminals all day long, but it doesn't make what I've done any less wrong. Barry Bonds, in my mind, is not a criminal. He is, in my mind, a liar and a cheater.

Oh, and by the way. To all of those who come on here and defend Bonds: Barry Bonds doesn't care about any of you. Barry is for Barry. Why don't you go to your local Veteran's Hospital or Fire Department and find a better role model?

  • So your saying politicians can lie but we can't. It has everything to do with it.

I guess we have to hire a spokesperson and then the lying is acceptable.
      • FIVERINGS
I say let's let him go and take the home run record away from him and wipe it off of the books. It's always going to have an asterisk by it anyway. I wonder how many HR's Aaron would have hit if he would have been doing roids. Probably about 900.
        • FlyMaster
Hank Aaron never even hit 50 in a season. 900 is a little ludicrous. Point is that Bonds is going to bear the cross for the entire steroid era and that doesn't seem right.
        • FIVERINGS
It's because he owns the most coveted record in sports and he cheated to get it.
        • FIVERINGS
I'm sorry. Meant to say the most coveted record in baseball. Look what happened to Pete Rose. He'll never get into the hall of fame for what he did. Hopefully, Barry won't either.
  • Linebacker51
I'm not saying that at all. All I'm saying is that the situation concerning Barry Bonds has nothing to do with anything other than Barry Bonds and the words he chose to come out of his mouth. It has nothing to do with Iraq, politicians, the homeless, healthcare, Ron Jeremy, or NASA.

And, by the way, all politicians lie. George W. Bush. Hillary Clinton. Barrack Obama. They're one and the same. No, it's not right. But, yes, that's the way it is.

  • Well I certainly can agree with your last statement. All I am trying to say is that going after baseball seems trivial. Not a priority.

  • The point is the justice dept. has better things to do than go after baseball players. This is a smoke screen. And yes Barry does care about me. He gives me great tips when I deliver his pizza and roids. And lied? You mean like saying there were weapons of mass destruction? Oh, is lying a crime?

"Oh, is lying a crime? "
~Under oath, yes. It's called perjury.

"And lied? You mean like saying there were weapons of mass destruction?"
~Once again, one has nothing to do with the other.

      Glad I could help.

Bush,Cheney,Bonds - an unholy trinity of disappointment. Bonds 'roid use and its effect on baseball is important culturally. Further warranting the attention of the feds is the amount of money involved in pro-baseball.Think it's not true? Ask that a**hole Arlen Specter. He will be glad to cite anti-trust and gambling laws as sufficient reasoning for the investigation. Personally, I hate Bonds and require no further proof that he should be jailed then stricken from the pages of baseball forever. What an anti-heroic goon. Die Barry Bonds! Arrgghhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
