How Does the Success of the Yankees Affect Sports Agents

An interesting blog entry on how the success of big market teams (like the Yankees) can affect the player's agents and how teams who spend between 60-80M have equal or better shots of making the playoffs. It's a nice different take on the typical salary question.

This is really interesting and shows how even when the Yankees lose, so does baseball. If the logic is right -- and it sounds pretty good to me -- then the Yanks losing results in less support for a salary cap within the league. "Who needs a salary cap?" How about the teams whose only hope for drawing crowds is putting together a magical winning formula with scrubs? It's a hell of a lot easier to draw crowds with big names.
