You just might be able to tell that I HATE the Yankees, the Bronx Bumblers, in the house that Ruth, woulda built if he could afford the mortgage. Thhhhhhe Yankeeeees Suuuuuuuck!
  • giantsrepeat
Suck...Really!? I thought you were smarter than than wheelman. That's as funny as those fans that get on camera and hold up the index finger screaming we're number 1, when in fact their team is not #1, kind of stupid don't you think?. But to say the Yankees suck is just as foolish my friend. Allow me to give my opinion of what Yankee Haters are, Wanna Be's and Sour Grapes,(and a lot worse but I'll keep it clean). The Yankees play within the rules of the game, they do what any other organization could do if they had the balls to try. Another thing these dimwits say is we buy championships, really!? If that were true we would win the World Series every year, but we don't. So what does that say about that moronic opinion? Because of the collective bargaining agreement many of the smaller market teams get millions from the teams that have more money to spend, like the Yankees, Angels, Dodgers and Red Sox to name a few. One in particular, the Pirates screw their fans by not spending it on top notch talent, the cheap ownership pockets it. And the fans stand still for it. When they get good players through their farm systems they just trade them away, look at the Marlins over the years. The Yankees have been a winning organization since their inception and have always developed home grown talent. Hell the entire middle infield is home grown as well as Melky Cabrera and many of their pitching staff, Hughes and Chamberlain to name a couple. They have players who have worn the pinstripes who are among some of the greatest to ever play the game. You could start an entire Yankees wing in Cooperstown. WE OWE NOBODY AN APOLOGY!! I actually love when the haters start mouthing off, it's amusing. They root for a loser or a team that rarely wins and they don't know any other way to react except with hate, and I wouldn't want it any other way. GO YANKEES!!!! And to all the Yankee Haters....kiss my ass!!
    • bobbarker030
Spoken like a true arrogant Yankees fan but you out played the Phillies... although if the Phillies actually showed up not just Lee and Utley the Yankees would have lost. But i concede... for now... just no tht we r gunning 4 u now.
  • giantsrepeat
And one other thing, if this is being bumblers,(snicker), we just bumbled our way into our 40TH AMERICAN LEAGUE PENNANT, feeeeeels so good!!! Now we continue the path to WORLD SERIES WIN #27, guess we'll have to bumble our way into that as well.

Success can be purchased gr. Being in the largest consumer market in the nation has helped the Yankees, to buy whatever talent they needed, when they needed it. Its that ability that has long soured many on the Yankees, and made a major contribution towards my deciding to not continue my fandom of the sport.

Yes, the Yankees have been a most successful franchise, but as with many that success has made them and their followers arrogant, a not particularly desirable trait. Arrogance at its worst (as in everything Yankees since I can`t remember when) breeds contempt at its strongest (which is what I have for the Pinheads). I take comfort in the fact that many only have any love for the Yanks, because of their success. During the lean years I heard many of these same people expressing admiration for the Braves, the Athletics, or whoever was on top for the moment.

If the Yankees team all choked on their overly excessive pride tomorrow, I wouldn`t shed a tear. Better yet, they should all go play streetball on the Major Deegan. Just not during rush hour. No one is likely to be offed by cars crawling by at 5-mph.
    • giantsrepeat
I have never rooted for anyone but the Yankees wheel, maybe followed the DBacks since moving out here to AZ. But it's always been the Yankees for me. I could give a **** what anyone else does, and I am tired of all the freakin' whining over what the Yankees do. Once again the haters amuse me.....and WE OWE NOBODY AN APOLOGY!!!!!!!! As far as the lame 'buying it' excuse, NO YOU CAN'T, you win it on the field....PERIOD!!!!
    • giantsrepeat
OK, so what your saying is because we are in New York we have won 40 pennants and 26 World Championships....really!? Then why have the Mets only won the series in 1969 and 1986? Even with the shorter time in MLB, according to your logic the Mets should have at least a dozen or so Championships by now. But they don't, why you may say.....because they are not.... THE YANKEES!!!!!!!!!!! but that's ok, like I said above, WE OWE NOBODY AN APOLOGY, and the haters are amusing anyway.
    • Wheelman
      Placard_complete_small
No, you don`t owe anybody an apology, but don`t think you`re going to shut me or the other Yankees haters up either. I have as much right to my opinions as you do to yours.

BUT, the Mets never had the checkbooks following them around the way the Yankees have. Neither did the Giants or Dodgers. Once Ruth, set his records the loyalties of most New Yorkers were set. From that time forward the Yankees have seen a steady stream of the best players that money could buy. Its only luck that it worked out that way. Certainly the personalities that have decorated the Stadium(s), weren`t always the best or most upright, but that was luck as well. Argue against the checkbook if you like, but history is what it is, and I know it well.

      GOOOOOO PHILLIEEEEEEES!!!!!!!!
    • filly4ever
      Placard_complete_small
No question, the Yankees try to buy championships. You really can't argue that GR. I don't fault them for it. If you have the money, why not. As far as comparing the Pirates to the Yankees as far as income, its not even close. The Bucs lose great players every year and its not because they won't pay em. Its cause they can't. Show me another team who could have the income to afford the players the Yanks went after this past offseason. Maybe one, not three of the most sought after guys. Its all good though. You can have the money, we'll settle for that shiny trophy and a second consecutive championship!!
    • giantsrepeat
First of all I am not trying to shut up the Yankee Haters, I enjoy their banter and find it amusing. But buying it doesn't fly or by your logic we would ALWAYS win it, and that is not possible. When we do win it, there is no luck about it. Your either better or not, period. What you need to understand is that Yankee fans don't care what other fans think, we are just sick of hearing all the whining about it. And you say they are arrogant, really....Jeter arrogant. He is the face of the franchise and one of the classiest players in the game. The rest of the team follows suit, so how are they arrogant? If your talking about the fans...pleeeease, Philadelphia fans are world renown for arrogance even by people who do not follow sports. And filly4ever, those players came here for a reason even though there were plenty of other teams making hefty offers for them. Enjoy the series guys.
    • giantsrepeat
One to go, how sweet it is!!
  • The Phillies are the sorriest franchise in a all of pro sports. The Oakland A's franchise has more titles in Philadelphia than the Phillies do. That is freakin' pathetic....

Manuel -- PLEASE PLEASE pitch pedro early and often. Remember the yankees are his daddy.....
  • BTW the Atheletics haven't been a philly team since 1954 HAHAHAHAHAAHA

Yankees 40 pennants, 26 rings. eat it you philthy scum.... Philadelphie is a hell whole too, you're fans look like inbreds

  • filly4ever
    Placard_complete_small
All Kidding aside, I think it should be a great series. I expect a lot of home runs. I think the key to the Phillies is actually the guy that MVP'd himself through the Playoffs last season, Cole Hamels. The starters need to be good with the lineup the Yanks have. I think both teams are vulnerable with the middle relief. I'm looking forward to watching these games and hopefully the Phils can do it again, besides GR you have 26. You really don't need another one....
    • giantsrepeat
Sorry filly, you can never have too many championships. The Yankees are gonna win one for their aging owner, George is not doing well. But yes this should be a good series, I'm glad none of it will be in LaLa Land, which means that asshole manny ramirez is on the outside looking in.

LOL funny, Jetes got some abs man.
  • filly4ever
    Placard_complete_small
OK..Tied at one. Great pitching so far in the series. Arod coming up small, but its early. Will the Phils hold on to home field and win this thing or will it go the distance? I still think the key to the Phils is Hamels and how he does tommorrow will go a long way to deciding how this all shakes out for the Phils. I've got a feeling its gonna go to 6 or 7 games. So whats everyone think so far of the series and has it changed your perception as to how it will end? I'm enjoying it. GO PHILLIES!!!
  • giantsrepeat
Actually if not for an amazing performance in game one by Cliff Lee, the Yankees may very well be up 2-0, but Lee was on another plane the way he was pitching. All I can do as a fan is tip my cap to what he did. If you had told me CC pitches 7 and gives up just 2 runs I'd say we win easily. But there is plenty of baseball to be played and game 3 we send one of the coolest post season pitches to ever toe the rubber to the mound, Andy Pennant, er I mean Pettite.
    • filly4ever
      Placard_complete_small
LOL...Yea Pettite is a gamer for sure. I remember a few years ago, the Phils were trying to get him. Didn't happen, but we survived.

Its funny, GR. As a Phils fan I feel the opposite as you. I feel the Phils went into your house and faced the history and all that comes with NY and did what they had to do. Got one of the two. Could easily be up 2-0 if not for a few breaks in game 2. I feel good coming home and getting control of the series. I guess we'll both know more by Sunday night, but I really think its gonna go the distance and become one for the ages.
    • Wheelman
      Placard_complete_small
Pettite`ll pitch if he gets outta the Social Security office on time. Shame the way they make you wait for the check each month.
  • filly4ever
    Placard_complete_small
Will we ever see a game in this series without rain????
  • giantsrepeat
Whew!!! That was a close call, I heard Andy got delayed at the Social Security office because of some loud mouthed woman complaining that her check was short. But luckily he got to the park in time to win yet another postseason game, even drove in a run and scored one as well. Best of all he shut up a park full of Philly fans and wiped the smirk off of Jimmy Rollins face in the process. Theeeeeeeeeeeee Yaaaaaaannnnnnnkkkkkkkeeeeeeeeesssss WIN!!
    • giantsrepeat
And this is what Manuel had to say about Andy Pettite: "Andy Pettitte, he's a lot like anybody else who ages — his stuff is kind of starting to dwindle down." He also is credited with this little gem: "I've seen him pitch on TV a lot, and I've definitely seen him pitch against our Cleveland team (where Manuel used to manage). We used to have some pretty good success against him, and I think we are ready for him." Did him and his shortstop attend the same university, OMIFU, (Open Mouth Insert Foot University)?
    • giantsrepeat
I forgot to post this after the World Series ended. Wonder what Manuel thinks of Andy Pennant now, considering he won the decisive game in all 3 series this year. To include knocking his filly's out of it.
  • kristinmasyn
dont get your panties in a bunch until the whole series is over, the series will be tied tomorrow!
  • filly4ever
    Placard_complete_small
Yea, The Yanks did what they needed to do. As I said before, Cole Hamels is the key here. Looked good early, but after that debacle home run by Arod he fell apart. If this series gets to game 7...a big IF right now... it will be Hamels again and from what I've seen so far this year from him, I have to say I'm concerned. Big game tonight the the pressure is back on the Phils. Gonna be interesting tonight. No rain to worry about....lets go!!
  • giantsrepeat
3-1 lead, the fat lady is spraying her throat as we speak. And it's funny but I don't hear that arrogant shortstop talking smack anymore. Maybe if we're nice we will let it go 6. But I want the Yankees to close it out in filly so we can dance on your field.
    • filly4ever
      Placard_complete_small
3-2, GR....comin back to NY for game six..No celebratin in Philly tonight..lol
    • Wheelman
      Placard_complete_small
Arrogant shortstop? Oh! You mean Drek Jitter, of the Yank-offs.
    • giantsrepeat
filly, I said Yankees in 6 from the beginning, so I'm not concerned. If we had done it on your field that would have been fine with me. But I really would rather see it done at Yankee Stadium. And Jeter arrogant...????? That is the single stupidest statement I have ever heard. Even Yankee Haters respect what Jeter has done and stands for in the game, lmao. Some people just like to say dumb ass things and make people laugh at them, I don't know why though.

Yankees played better - congrats! I'm still proud of the Phillies also!

    Placard_complete_small
I was hoping for a game 7. Nothing like a do or die for both teams, but it became apparent to me after that game 4 loss that it would have been extreemly tough to come back from that. The Yanks played great and deserve the ring. Believe it or not, GR I am not a Yankee hater and feel the best team won. My Phils had a lot of issues this season and to end up two wins from a Championship with the problems they had is just amazing to me. Hopefully we meet again next season and we can fix those things before we meet again.
    • giantsrepeat
Sounds good to me, the Phillies were a worthy opponent. Now if my football team can just pull their heads out of their ass I'll be even happier.
    • filly4ever

Still early, G. I fully expect a 3 team dogfight to the end. These home games are must wins for the Eagles because the 2nd half of the season is brutal for us. See you in December, my friend..
