WTF Favre? Are you retired or not?

Farve just can't seem to walk away quietly. A couple of years ago it was the whole 'should I retire or not and I'll take my time deciding because I am Brett Favre' deal. Now that he is retired, he says that he could fill in if Aaron Rodgers is injured or if the team is in a pinch. Said Lord Favre; "It would be hard to pass up, I guess. Yeah, I can probably be up there doing that and playing, but again, I don't know. It's only speculating. I think the world of that team. I had a lot of fun, not only this year, but over my career. Those guys I played with this past year, a lot of young guys, a lot of fun. . . ." The Favre interview was posted on the Biloxi (Miss.) Sun-Herald's website on Tuesday. Sounds like he wants to do what Roger Clemens and Teamu Selanne both did, come back for the fun part of the season and miss all the crap like training camp, OTA mini-camps, and everything else veterans hate. http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=737072

    • he did say he's retired cowboy, the article is on my back pages somewhere. he has until june 1st to file his paperwork, that's why the media won't leave him be-once that's filed i'm sure they can & will shut up lol!!
      • i'm going to email it through here, don't want to spam your thread!!

          Cool, thanks.
Since he has thrown this out there, what will the reaction of Cheesehead Nation be when/if Aaron Rodgers struggles? Will it only be the fans and media who start talking about Favre coming back and saving the Packers or will his agent and the Packers front-office start talking about him returning?
His agent has been talking about him playing again somewhere else and there was the, "Brett retired because he wasn't happy" BS, Bus Cook can stir the pot and I don't think he would hesitate to if it benefitted him or Favre.
It probably won't happen but it could happen and it might get ugly.
        • don't want to start a rumor mill goin :(
jets are a NO for sure, where ever that came from, like i said in my email was just wrong-i think that's why he answered the way he did in the article i sent you.
june 1st we will know one way or the other for sure. as for him not being happy-maybe over losing but who would be happy right. stir the pot YEAH you hit the nail on the head for sure. shame i think once and for all if he signs his papers it should shut everyone up-for lack of any other way to put it.
ugly yes that's why i'm trying to be careful about what i say lol!!

Favre, shut up and stay retired, have some respect for Aaron Rodgers and let him prove himself with this opportunity

I agree, if Rodgers can stay healthy I think the Pack will be okay. It would also reverse the trend of Jeff Tedford QBs who have been busts in the NFL, except for Billy Volek.
  • can get an amen
