Cardinals Mark Adams Connects

With Phillies pitcher Halladay on the mound, the Cardinals have indeed given the Phillies a bit of their own medicine ~ Molina had a grand slam in the first inning . Halladay was taken out of the game after the second due to arm soreness. It has been questioned in past days if he hasn't been nursing an injury, but no substantial report has been available to confirm.  Evidently, today was the day he had to give up the ghost. Even though, the Cardinals have pretty much controlled the game. And Furcal has done a heck of job at second base. A couple of diving saves ~ one a great play to get the runner out at second.

In the bottom of the sixth ~ Mark Adams, who was brought up from Triple-A Memphis to replace injured FB Lance Berkman ~ had his first major league home run. A solo ~ but hit right outta the park. Entering the dugout....there he stood all alone - seemingly his teammates did not notice. Then! the "guys" jumped up giving him high-fives from all in a huddle.

Congrates to Adams ~ gotta be a "feel good" moment for the 23 year old being able to add to the Cardinals lead, 8-1.

Wainwright retired after the sixth ~ another very good game of pitching, only allowing the one run. Rzepczynski is in to relieve. Looks like the Cardinals will keep the Phillies 4 game series sweep record at 1913!!

Have a great day ~ Always, Elichap
