Orlando City OFFICIALLY announced as MLS expansion side #21

So it's officially official, Orlando City Soccer Club are the MLS #21 expansion club.

Unless you have been living under a rock, this news won't come as a great surpise to you but to have the news made official by MLS commish Don Garber is the only words that everyone in purpleland wanted to hear.

Don Garber announced the worst kept secret in world soccer tonight, welcoming Orlando City to the MLS as the 21st participant and the 11th expansion side in the last 10 years.

It was great news for the club who have recently secured funding for their new soccer specific stadium from the county and they will begin play in 2015.

The USL can also be proud of what they have achieved as Orlando join Seattle, Portland, Vancouver and Montreal who have all grown up through the third division ranks to join the big league.

Let the party begin!
