Michigan may say goodbye to IRL

As chance would have it, Patrick might have the chance to be the first and also the last driver to win an open-wheel race at MIS, which isn't planning to host the IRL in 2008, nor a single-cockpit series event in the foreseeable future, after it and the IRL failed to agree on a date for next season. "First off, it is a shame that we might not be coming back (to Michigan)," said Patrick on Wednesday. "But it would be special to win at such a historic track like MIS. The only shortcoming is that if I win there, I wouldn't be returning to defend it."
