Will test cricket endure the ‘glamour onslaught’ of T20?

West Indies captain, Chris Gayle, has re-opened the heated debate as
to the future of test cricket with comments that it will be filthy lucre
that will eclipse national pride when emerging talents decide on which
cricketing code to put their young, and often unchallenged, weight
behind.

Gayle is reported to fancy the wham bam of T20 cricket
over the grit, determination and associated skill of the test arena. He
is even prepared to relinquish the highest honour afforded to a test
cricketer and that is, of course, the captaincy.
