Breaking News: Tony Romo Out 4 Weeks with a Broken Pinkie

Things just keep piling up for my (America's as well) favorite team. With a loss to the Cardinals (who by the way were without their star receiver Anquan Boldin), an exposed offensive line, and your star CB in Adam Pacman Jones possibly facing punishment by the league, things just don't seem to be going well for the Boys. Add to the mix Terence Newman being out and your head coach being on the hot seat and it might be time to hit the panic button on this season, which is quickly getting out of hand. In case you weren't aware, the NFC East doesn't have the inside track on controlling the playoff picture any more. Tampa Bay has a great defense that plays well at home. The Carolina Panthers are always a threat with Jake Delhomme coming back from injury. The Saints have maybe the 2nd best quaterback in the league, who hardly gets mentioned, coupled with an explosive offense. And don't look now, but The Falcons (I can't believe I'm saying this) have found a franchise quaterback in Matt Ryan, who is poised in the pocket and is making fans in Atlanta forget Michael what's his name. Getting back to the Boys, I think this team is about ready to implode. I like Wade Philips as a coordinator, but this is way too much for him to handle. With the trade line looming, I'm sure the Boys might be in the market for another quarterback, but I'm not sure they won't be looking for a new head coach as well.

  • You guys will prob. do better. Tonys been stinking. Maybe old man will add some juice to the team. Let TO throw the ball and then run down the field and catch it himself so he won't bitch anymore.

I just saw this on Yahoo myself. It's probably true, but until we have an official announcement from a named source, I'm not counting on the 4 weeks thing.

yes put in brad johnson trust me cowboys he will lead you guys to the SB wink wink. Maybe thats why Romo didnt get rid of the ball his pinkie hurt what a wimp. Another point to my argument of why mcnabb is better no way mcnabb misses a game with a pinkie injury. Imagine what TO will say with Brad Johnson throwing him passes for 4 weeks he's gonna cry again.

Well maybe this will be a blessing in disguise for the Cowboys....Romo has been stinkin it up lately and maybe Johnson will provide some sort of spark...who knows the NFL is crazy these days. But cheering an injury to any player is flat out embarrassing and the Eagles fans on this post who are doing it have nothing to talk about with all the injuries we have. Have a little class for once and stop making real fans look like trash.

jared 360 thats why u r the MAN...it's crazy how some of these people thinks it's great that romo is injured...I didn't once think that it was great that westbrook got hurt cause at the end of the day someone's health is more important...appreciate what u said, it's fans like u that make the eagles look good, but then it's the rest of these guys that make people hate philly...I appreciate your class
      • Spotella
I totally agree with you Love. As I said earlier it's better that everyone stay healthy!
    • Well spoken Jared. I apologize. Lloyd.
    • Spotella
I've got to say I agree. I wasn't laughing when Brady got hurt and I'm not laughing at Homo either. (But maybe a little because it's his pinkie) I do prefer everyone to stay healthy and win that way!

no more dirty sanchez's for T.O. or jessica
    • orions
yeah, major injuries changed/are changing league this year...a strange year, a mediocre year?...and yeah, never rejoice in humungous league-altering injuries or any injury, no doubt...waters down the competition and strength of the NFL...NFL wants Parity?...yup, the NFL has a nice helping now
  • phillyfannaz
i dont cheer injuries at all but this is big in the sense that it really hurts the cowboys chances. Johnson may have provided a spark 5 yrs ago but come on he is old and he was never mobile to begin with and lets face it alot of times this year romo has extended plays with his legs to allow TO and others to get deep but Johnson wont be able to do that the cowboys are gonna have to rely on the run game.

  • First let me say that my parents had nothing to do with this post. I want to apologize to all Eagle fans and especially to Jared and Squish. I have said some nasty things about Philly in the past. There was never any need of it. Philadelphia is a beautiful city with wonderful people and well deserving of the title "City Of Brotherly Love." Squish! You're an inpiration to me and that's why I used your comments. You are what I wanted to be. You're a highly intelligent blogger just like Jared. So Philly please accept this apology and take care.

  • I aint gonna lie I cheered when tony homo went down, I think all eagles fans did, some just won't admit it, but deep down inside all of us eagles fans are very happy he's gonna miss a month, so yea I cheered when he got hurt, I cheered when Irvin got hurt at the vet, I cheered when we gave Troy all of those concussions, hey at the end of the day i'm an eagles fan, never like the cowboys and never will, and I don't feel sorry for any of them, piont blank, period

wow thats real manly of you. see i hate the eagles . but i want them all healthy everytime we play them. so we can beat u guys full strength with no excuses. thats how a real team does it. people are just happy romo is hurt cuz yall dont want to play against him
      • mom2a2
He's only out for 3-4 weeks. Eagles don't play him 'til Dec 28th. I don't want any player to get hurt but it is hilarious every time I see the bottom of my TV screen say that Romo's out due to broken pinkie. Couldn't they just say finger?
    • Spotella
I did not cheer when he broke his pinkie. I admit I chuckled a little but that's only because it's only his pinkie. I don't want injuries for any team!

  • I, like most of you, am happy that romo will be out for the next few weeks. Just be very careful, because brad johnson is a veteran qb who can manage a game. That team still has a lot of talent. If romo really misses 4 games, then i wouldnt be suprised to see them split with 2 wins. Should be fun to watch...

FOX Sports has also stated that Romo will be out four weeks due to his broken pinky! Look, I said this is a column at the beginning of the season, Wade Phillips stinks as a head coach! The residual of Parcels leaving is now all but shot and the Cowboys have to play Phillips football....which is loosing football. The only reason he was hired as a coach was to pacify an owner who secretly wants to be on the sidelines coaching. Wade is a "yes" man from way back and Dallas will continue to downward spiral until Phillips walks and Jones backs off the field and back into the owners box. I was so sick of all the media playing up the Cowboys in pre-season and throughout, the television schedule blindly set to show so many Cowboys games....come on....they actually have more air time than the defending Superbowl Giants. At any rate, it is about coaching, not hype, and Jones should hire a decent one and WATCH the games from that 23 million dollar suite of his!

You got that right Nate. I compare it to the time Jerry Jones got rid of his head coach to put his college buddy in the job, Switzer I believe it was. At that time the Cowboys were very good, it was like being handed the keys to a formula 1 race car, just keep the car on the track. Well Switzer eventually ran the car into a wall and he was gone. The only thing that matters is doing it on the field and teams of character with players of character will be the ones on top in the end. Character like Eli Manning leading the Giants and a head coach who was able to admit when he was wrong and turn the team around with a new approach. Your right, Phillips is a puppet on a string.
