    2. Brandon Meriweather is congratulated by CB Jonathan Wilhite and S Brandon McGowan after his TD gives New England a 7-0 lead with 12:26 to play in 1st quarter.

    3. The Buccaneers' second drive of the game also ended with a Brandon Meriweather INT. Meriweather returns the pick past G Davin Joseph 31 yards to the Patriots 46-yard line.

    5. Patriots RB Laurence Maroney is tackled by the Bucs' defense. He finished the game with 43 yards rushing on 13 attempts.

    7. The good news for Patriots' backup RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis was that he got some carries. The bad news was that he ended up on his head after one of them. Green-Ellis ran the ball 7 times for a total of 6 yards.

    8. It's all good for (left to right) RB Kevin Faulk, D-line coach Pepper Johnson, and Brandon Meriweather as they leave the field following Patriots' 35-7 victory over Tampa Bay to improve to 5-2.

    9. Bills RB Marshawn Lynch is hit by Panthers' CB Captain Munnerlyn too late as he scores his 1st TD of the season on a 7-yard run to give Bills a 7-0 lead during 1st quarter at Charlotte.

    10. Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams is brought down by S Jairus Byrd after a 17-yard run during 2nd quarter. Byrd, with dreads too short to see them, had 2 INT in the game, both of which set up TD drives; while Williams scored the only TD of the game for Carolina in a 20-9 loss to Buffalo.

    11. Cowboys WR Patrick Crayton makes a 5-yard TD catch against Falcons CB Chris Houston with 6 seconds remaining in 1st half. Actually Houston had Crayton covered for about 5 seconds; but with QB Tony Romo avoiding a sack and buying time, Crayton finally shook Houston to give Dallas a 17-7 halftime lead.

    12. On the first play after Falcons pulled to within 17-14 in 3rd quarter, WR Miles Austin catches a pass against Chris Houston for a 32-yard gain. Cowboys went on to drive 80 yards for a TD to regain control, and went on to defeat Falcons 37-21.

    13. Packers CB Al Harris makes Browns rookie WR Mohamed Massaquoi pay for this 22-yard catch during 1st quarter at Cleveland. But actually, it was Harris who paid. The NFL called this an unnecessary facemask grab and hit Harris with a $5,000 fine.

    14. On the next play Joshua Cribbs, operating as the wildcat QB, is stopped by Packers LBs Clay Matthews and A.J. Hawk after a 1-yard gain. Browns got a FG on the drive and led (not for long) 3-0.

    15. As Packers CB Charles Woodson returns an INT, S Atari Bigby looks for somebody to block during 2nd quarter. The INT set up a 15-yard TD drive that put Green Bay ahead 21-3.

    16. Browns TE Greg Estandia catches a pass for 5 yards on 3rd and 2, but Atari Bigby makes the tackle at the Packers' 44-yard line to keep Browns out of FG range with 35 seconds to play in 1st half. Browns never did get into FG range and trailed 21-3 at the half.

    17. Packers rookie FB Quinn Johnson gets his first career stat, a reception for no gain, as he is tackled by LB David Bowens during 3rd quarter.

    18. Browns RB Jerome Harrison gets in Atari Bigby's face after Bigby tackled him out of bounds for an unnecessary roughness penalty late in 3rd quarter.

    20. Al Harris works against the Browns' other rookie WR, Brian Robiskie. Packers' defense held awful Browns' offense to 139 total yards as Green Bay won 31-3.

    21. Vikings WR Sidney Rice goes high but not high enough trying to catch a pass that hit the goal post as Steelers LBs James Farrior (#51) and Keyaron Fox can only watch on 2nd and goal during 3rd quarter at Pittsburgh. Vikings ended up settling for a FG.

    22. Sidney Rice looks to get past CB Ike Taylor during 2nd half. Rice finished with 11 catches for 136 yards, but Steelers handed Vikings their first loss of the season 27-17.

    23. Dolphins WR Davone Bess gets credit for an 8-yard catch on 3rd and 4 as Saints CB Randall Gay defends during 1st quarter. Bess finished with just 3 catches for 13 yards, and had a huge momentum-changing fumble late in 1st half.

    24. Saints DE Charles Grant and friends check out a replay on the video board during 1st half. Saints rallied from a 24-3 deficit to win at Miami 46-34 and remain undefeated at 6-0.

    25. 49ers TE Vernon Davis bounces off of a hit by Texans CB Dunta Robinson (#23) and eludes LB DeMeco Ryans to score a 29-yard TD catch during 3rd quarter at Houston. It was the first of 3 TD for Davis.

    26. Dunta Robinson hands his gloves to a lucky fan after Texans, who led 21-0 at halftime, held on to defeat 49ers 24-21.

    27. Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson tries to dive over the top on 1st and goal but is denied by Chiefs LB Corey Mays during 2nd quarter at Kansas City. Chargers ended up settling for a FG to lead 17-0 and went on to rout Chiefs 37-7.

    28. Jets WR David Clowney scores his 1st NFL TD, on a 35-yard catch against Raiders CB Chris Johnson to give Jets a 31-0 lead during 3rd quarter at Oakland. Clowney finished with 4 catches for 79 yards in the 38-0 victory.

    29. Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald is tackled by DT Fred Robbins at the Giants' 39-yard line after a 4-yard catch during 2nd quarter.

    30. Five plays later the Cardinals' drive ends with a TD as RB Beanie Wells uses a stiff-arm to avoid being tackled by S C.C. Brown on his 13-yard TD run that tied the game 7-7.

    31. Beanie Wells tries that stiff-arm thing again on the Cardinals' next possession, but C.C. Brown makes the tackle at the Giants' 13-yard line after a 6-yard gain. Cardinals ended up settling for a FG, and Giants led 14-10 at halftime.

    34. Larry Fitzgerald drops a pass from Antrel Rolle on a trick play then gets clobbered by CB Terrell Thomas and C.C. Brown midway through 3rd quarter. But even had he caught the pass, the TD wouldn't have counted because Cardinals were called for a holding penalty.

    35. After taking abuse from Giants' fans all game, DT Darnell Dockett gives some back after Cardinals won 24-17 to improve to 4-2.

    36. Redskins S Chris Horton can't make the tackle in time as Eagles WR Desean Jackson scores on a 57-yard TD catch on 3rd and 22 late in 2nd quarter for a 27-7 lead. Eagles cruised in 2nd half and picked up the road win 27-17.

    37. Welcome back. Colts S Bob Sanders makes his 2009 debut against the Rams after recovering from knee surgery. Sanders played 25 snaps and finished with 1 tackle.

    46. With Bears trailing 21-0, WR Devin Hester is tackled by CB Johnathan Joseph and stripped by S Chris Crocker after an 18-yard catch at the Bengals' 38-yard line with 9:41 to go in 2nd quarter. The Bengals recovered.

    47. A sight seen all game. Cedric Benson gaining chunks of yardage while being chased from behind by the Bears' defense.

    48. With the Bengals so far ahead, it would have been a perfect time to get rookie RB Bernard Scott some carries. But Benson was having so much fun he didn't want to come out of the game. Here Scott gets past LB Lance Briggs as he gains some of his 17 yards rushing on 6 carries.

    49. There's no joy in scoring when you're trailing 45-3, as Devin Hester and Matt Forte show after Hester's 5-yard TD catch early in 4th quarter.

    50. Devin Hester just had his first career 100-yard receiving game, but you would hardly know it. Despite all of his yards, Hester and his teammates were embarrassed in a 45-10 defeat to Cincinnati.

    51. Cedric Benson meets with the man who once blocked for him, Bears FB Jason McKie. Benson rushed for a career-high 189 yards against his former team, leading Bengals to a 45-10 win and a 5-2 record going into their bye week.
