How to get your ass kicked on ABC, by Ron Zook
There is still 12 minutes left in the game, but hell its 42-10, out of wack. Completely lopsided. This game has shown me one of two things, maybe three. One, Illinois shouldn't be here, because they played in a weak Big Ten Conference. Two, USC should be playing in the National Championship game, and they certainly showed this today. Three, how about both. I'm not sure Illinois could've done what Michigan did, by beating Florida earlier in the Capital One Bowl (aka Citrus). This game is eerily what I thought it would be (I said 41-14 USC), except there is still 11 minutes left in the 4th quarter! This is nothing short of an NFL team, in USC. Pete Carroll deserves all of the credit he has done with that program, truly remarkable. Getting back to the game, for anyone that saw it, the fumble at the 7 or 8 yard line, really turned this game around, in the wrong way for Illinois. Right after that fumble, a lateral on USC's part, and its 28-10. This game is out of hand, and I'm done here. Props again to USC and Pete Carroll. Back to back.

1. USC up 7-0, first quarter- Fred Davis catches a slant across the middle and "fumbles" the ball. It was close but the referee blew it dead right away so there could be no review of it. The replays shown I thought I saw the ball coming out. 2 plays later USC scores. 14-0 USC
2. Ensuing drive Juice Williams throws a ball that is tipped at the line and picked off. USC runs it back to about the 25. Next play WR pass for TD. USC 21-0
3. Illinois finally has momentum. USC up 21-10 Illini driving and their WR Gamble fumbles inside the 5. USC recovers and from there it was down hill. Instead of 21-17 with the momentum heavily shifted towards Illinois it turns into a USC rout.
Juice looked very unsure of himself this game and the play calling was down right horrible. Too many screens and not enough down the field throws early. Props to USC and their season. I'm looking forward to watching USC play the Bucks in September next year!
