Outside of maybe Arkansas FB Peyton Hillis, West Virginia Owen Schmitt is probably the top fullback in this year's Draft. He's a day-two guy and tougher than nails. Case in point: He once beat himself over the head with his own helmet. He also was the lead blocker for WVU running backs Steve Slaton and Noel Devine, the former of whom will be drafted this year and the latter of whom is poised to take over the spotlight next year for the Mountaineers. Last night I saw Schmitt at a club in New York. When I asked him how he thought Slaton would do in the pros, I received a standard, boring answer: He'll be a good player, blah blah blah. But when I asked him if Noel was a better running back than Steve, his eyes lit up like my head was a New York strip steak. "Oh yeah," he said. "Oooooh yeeeaah." - Dewey
