The Ultimate Showdown: American Football Vs. Rugby
Every football player knows it, every Rugby player acknowledges it, and that my friends is one of the most controversial questions in all sports. Whats tougher, football or rugby? Football. The so called "HE MAN" sport. Men donned in armor going at each other for 60 minutes of playing time. (Plus 120 minutes on the sidelines sipping gatorade) Such gruesome hits, you cant even describe it unless you look up a video of it one youtube. Probably the most exciting matchups of the year would be Steven Jackson vs. the Chicago Bears D-Line. Bone crunching action as men rip off each others arms for entertainment. No limits on tackles besides helmet to helmet is what truly makes the sport. Rugby, the good old game of backyard tackles. No armor, no protection, just under armour to soak up the blood. Men blowing each other over with hits that seem to defy gravity. One player who seems to be gliding down the sidelines, could be laid out the next. Rugby players have to use both their hands in the tackle, just so we dont see sissy tackle like Nebraska's D-Line. In the end I can't decide which one is tougher. On one hand I wouldn't want to be plowed by Joey Porter, yet on the other I dont want to be thrown ten feet into the air, only to return with equal force. I guess it'll come down to who has more hits, or probably more injuries.
