What if Brady's shoe was on Vince Young's foot?
What if Brady's shoe was on Vince Young's foot? You have two high-profile quarterbacks go down with knee injuries on the opening Sunday of the NFL season. One, a Super Bowl winning quarterback. The other, a college national championship winning quarterback. Yet since Tom Brady went down with a knee injury, all we've heard about is how his absence will cost the Patriots a chance at the Super Bowl and how he's one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. Meanwhile, we've barely heard anything on Vince Young's injury, other than he's out 2-4 weeks. Yes, Young is on a smaller market team, he hasn't done much since coming into the league and Brady's injury appears to be far more serious. But I ask you this ? what if Young's injury put him out for the season, and Brady's was only a 2-4 week shelving? I think the reactions would be THE EXACT SAME! We'd still be hearing about what Brady's loss would mean to the Patriots, and we'd barely hear anything about Kerry Collins taking over for Young. Is the media treating this with a racial bias? Is anyone surprised?

As for if the shoe was on the other foot; it's impossible to tell if Tom Brady would have received more coverage if he was out 2-4 weeks because it's a hypothetical. Even if it was the other way, does it really even matter? Tom Brady is more important to the Patriots than Vince Young is to the Titans.
I hate to see race come into the equation. I sincerely hope race is not the underlying factor. Perhaps there are some shades of racism etched deep down on a subconcious level. I highly doubt there is a concious effort to diminish Vince Young based on race. He simply isn't a record-setting, Superbowl winning quarterback..or even a playoff winning quarterback for that matter. If/when he become that consistent, you will see more coverage on him and his importance to the team. At least that's my opinion.

Most TN fans probably feel the team has a better shot with Collins than it does with VY. Dominating defense, with a ball control - low turnover- offense. That's how the Ravens did it a few years back. I want VY to play somewhere where he can just be VY. But, like Michael Vick, he has to realize that in the NFL, a lot of guys on defense are just as fast as he is, so he won't be able to run past everyone to day light like he did in college and high school, so he has go to be a more accurate passer.

we are all racist ?????????????? We loved Steve Mc Nair because he could play and had a great heart something VY lacks. VY is the laughing stock of the NFL because he sucks not because he is black.
You are the one being racist .........................
