UFC 146 Medical Suspensions: Several Fighters Face Six Months on the Sideline

The UFC 146: dos Santos vs. Mir medical suspensions were released to MMAWeekly.com on Tuesday by the Nevada Athletic Commission.
After several hard-fought battles and crushing finishes, it’s not surprising that there were several medical suspensions following Saturday night’s fights at the MGM Grnd Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
UFC 146: dos Santos vs. Mir Medical SuspensionsFrank Mir is suspended until July 23 with no contact until July 11.
Cain Velasquez must have his left hand x-rayed and, if positive, he must be cleared by a doctor or he is suspended until Nov. 20; he faces a minimum suspension until June 26 with no contact prior to June 17.
Antonio Silva must have a nasal x-ray and, if positive, he must be cleared by an Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor or he his suspended until Nov. 20; he faces a minimum suspension until July 23 with no contact prior to July 11 due to lacerations.
Dave Herman is suspended until July 23 with no contact prior to July 11.
Shane Del Rosario is suspended until July 23 with no contact prior to July 11.
Lavar Johnson must see an orthopedic doctor within 30 days to have his left elbow evaluated; he faces a minimum suspension until July 11 with no contact prior to June 26.
Darren Elkins is suspended until June 26 with no contact prior to June 17 due to left ear hematoma and tough fight.
Diego Brandao is suspended until June 26 with no contact prior to June 17 due to a tough fight.
