LAKERS (REFS ARE IN THE POCKET) CELTICS WINNING STREAK END ON A SOUR NOTE=CHEATED (92-83)

REFS IN L.A GAVE CELTIC FANS VERY LITTLE TO CHEER FOR. BECAUSE THEY CALLED THAT GAME F**KED UP. BOSTON COULDN'T GET A CALL AT ALL, EVEN WHEN IT WAS CLEAR THERE WAS A FOUL ON THE LAKERS! HOW DISRESPECTFUL IS THAT TO 2 CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS( WHEN IT'S CLEAR) YOU ROBBED A GOOD TEAM OUT OF A WIN. IT STILL DOSEN'T PROVE THE LAKERS ARE BETTER THAN THE CELTICS (CAUSE THEIR NOT)

ah, no excuses you'll hear from this City...we don't make them...the Lakers one at home, a game they were expected to win...the officiating, ah, as long as it's cool in June...like how C's didn't treat this game like a game 7 in June...funny seeing the Lakers celebrate...laughs...peace out, and 4 months left to go for the 16 seeds

It's not like it was the Finals. The Lakers will melt down again when it comes to crunch time. A game in December don't mean crap.
      • Mizzy21390
I agree.. I hope that happens... This was just ONE game in december. So no sweat...
  • Mizzy21390
the part that made ma laugh, was the confetti at the end of the win. Im not making excuses, even if i agree and witness with my own eyes what shizz08 had said. But I am laughing because the fans are really acting like this is a championship win. Confetti, and fans saying we suck? How is 27-3 suck, and 24-5 is better? Wow...

Im laughing because It makes me feel better with this loss, even with the refs kinda giving the Lakes more calls, the C's didnt really show up AS much as I thot they would have. Everyone seemed rly dead, and lack luster.

This loss will help us get back into focus on what we need to improve on. The things we are missing, and the things we need to fix.

The fans, now are riduculous, making this win as if they won title 15. Its only a game in december. And its a win AT HOME.

Im just angry with the loss, bcuz now, I can just expect the WHOLE WORLD saying, "Oh the Lakers are def Champions of 2009". I can already see what L.A Times will have on their newspaper and the Lakes being crowned champs already...

I dont care that our strk was broken, bcuz the strk is not what we win our championships for. What good would it be to have a 50 gm strk, and lose in the playoffs? None! So this strk I didnt care about. Yes it was impressive, but Its not like they were going to win a trophy for havine a 19 gm winning strk.

On the other hand, the Lakers are truly going to get a trohpy from ESPN and the rest of the world, for FINALLY beating the Celtics. Its like the little brother who was never able to beat his big brother, and he finally can, and ends up getting a candy bar from his mom. Thats how I see it.

This is just the 3rd loss. We are still on a fast pace to doing perfectly well, with the need of some acquiring of PJ, Mutombo or Smith, or someone to help our lacking bench which sucks so bad. That is where we need to improve, THE BENCH.

And Orions ur right. As long as I dont see this kind of officiating in June, Im fine. Seeing it in december, a reg season game isnt anything to get me that mad.

My last point b4 I go. I had to watch the game in mute, bcuz I cant stand Jeff Van Gundy or when the Celtics games are on abc/ESPN.. even TNT is ok with me. But those bias commentators are horrible. One point in the game b4 I vouched to put the tv on mute, said, "the Celtics dont even go to the paint often, they need to start with that, if they think they can beat the Lakers". This comment was so stupid bcuz the Celtics actually went to the paint waaay more often than the Lakers b4 halftime. I remember it was something like 30 paint pts to like 10 pts.

Oh yea and (for real now), lastly, it has to show something that the Celtics played one of their worst games and the Lakers played one of their best games, and we still were able to stay within winning the game.

    • I am sorry, but unless you are on the payroll it is not "we".
      • lewii5
u should find every occurance on yardbarker where someone uses the "we" form when they are talking about their favorite team and correct them.
        • Mizzy21390
thanks lewii5, I have no idea why this is even a discussion.. I do that all the time... and wasnt expecting to see someone actually point out that i did so...
        • orions
I hear ya, BO and Mizzy, that's just a gay post above...as we all say "we" in that kind of context
  • celtics suck and their fans blame everyone else but their team. The lakers are better. They played better and they are better. Face the music. They will win in February when they play them at the garden.

    • Tell me, how are the Lakers better yet we AND the Cavs have better records? If we sucked, and we have the best record in the league, what then can you say about your Lakers? They played better, but also had the help of the refs. Celtics are clearly the better team. We played our worst basketball and you guys played your best yet this game was still relatively close. If the Lakers were so much better than the Celtics, this would''ve been a blowout.
    • orions
thanks, finally a Laker fan who never wavered this season on who the favorite is...lol, see you in February...in the books, LA will win that game...if somehow not, I will find this old thread in future, and "debate" with you...and Yes, the mighty Lakers are a tad better right now, but Celtics, I wouldn't say they suck...that's irresponsible
  • So Here's the deal. Fans truly are funny, Hypocrites to a T. You always blame the refs when you're team loses. Plus on every blog, "C" fans are calling a blowout, talking up "their" team prior (at least ten to twenty d-bags I have seen say "C's win by 10 or 15-20", talking **** about how celtics will "bring it" and destroy the celtics when P. Pierce "wrecks" Walton or whatever b-crap you're so quick to dish out).
    Result:
Lakers win a hard fought, well-played even-sided game by a healthy margin (shorthanded without Farmar nonetheless). Of course, all of a sudden, it was the refs and the game DIDN'T.
    1) Stop being hypocrites... This game mattered just as much for both teams. No Qeustions asked, no B.S.
    2) The celtics, plain and simple didn't go to the hole as much (within the paint, that is). People love to talk **** based on heresay and inclings.
Look at the shot chart and box score, people. Both the celtics and lakers had 11 shots in the painted area. But factor in how many times lakers went to the line-8 times, celtics-4 times (going to the free throw line does not count as a shot attempt in the box score) Hence: Lakers shoot 19 times in the paint, Celtics shoot 15 times in the paint. Reason why they get more foul calls, duh. Stop being morons and open your blind eyes, dumbasses.
4Q analysis: Lakers shoot in the paint 6 times (go to the line 2 times).
Celtics only in the paint 2 times (never go to the free throw line).
Hence dumbasses, you go to the free throw line more after shooting in the paint, Lakers did that more, hence they go to the line more and win the game. End of story.
I ain't saying anything about who's better cause Cetics are definitely, just stop being a biased dumbass fan and do some research you morons!

    • How about you do some research? To say that the game was not biased is probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Sure, we did play badly, with our miscommunication and deadly turnovers, but you cannot deny the fact that the refs handed this win over to the Lakers. With all the OBVIOUS, ridiculous fouls called against us, and barely any for the Lakers, how was it not biased? Ray getting called for an invisible offensive foul? Or Trevor Ariza stepping out of bounds TWICE and not getting called? Or Rondo getting fouled on a shot attempt and getting the call for the foul? Those are just a few. And the game had too many. Oh well, at least you admit we are the better team. The Lakers can only beat us (and only by 9!) at our worst.
    • orions
your whole spiel has no cred...again, you use Farmar injury as a factor, yet you attack C's Fans for making excuses...don't be saying I made any excuses...I said congrats...no excuses, some fans are saying that, not me...my only point, is your Team, the Lakers, I never want to hear again this season, that the Lakers shift from Favorites to not, not to favorites...LA is, was, and will be the 09' favorite...C's Cavs, whoever, are all underdogs...LA Fans need to stop waffling, and maintain your Vegas status...and yeah, can't wait until February
      • sambot
la fans made excuses all summer about bynum being out.
  • I'm glad someone else noticed that those "incredible" plays occurred out of bounds. One time I thought the ball actually bounced in the yellow before being saved by the lakers.

lets see if i can get the video of ariza in this comment.. take a close look as he DOES keep balanced. I'm not hating on you guys but just admit that you guys lost a fair game. You can say that the refs "helped" the lakers win, but how many times did Kobe go to the free throw line? 0 times.

      • Mizzy21390
I paused the video, and at 8 seconds... if u pause the game, ull see that Ariza was on the yellow area... I dont know what else to say...
      • No one was talking about Kobe going to the line. We were talking about the calls the refs called against the Celtics, and the fouls the Lakers got away with. Kobe's not the only person on the Lakers team, contrary to popular belief.
      • Shaggmosis
No, but contrary to your belief Sofap114... Kobe not shooting free throws makes a greater impact than you can imagine (he averaged more than 8 free throw attempts per game prior to this encounter) he is a 87% free throw shooter. I was simply making a valid point that the refs were not out to get the Celtics but that the Celtics lost a fair game. Just admit it, admit that the Celtics are a great team that just couldn't play to their potential that N_I_G_H_T (I'm not hating, just telling it like it really was) or against golden state for that matter. Stop blaming the refs for the Celtics turnovers.. I've heard this after EVERY loss you guys have had since last year's playoff games vs your Eastern Conference foes.. I could cry and complain that Farmar and Radmanovic were injured and didn't play.. they are key parts of the Lakers offense. "No one was talking about Kobe going to the line.", WOW that's pretty convenient!

he did step out of bounds; but it would've been a bit impossible to see considering that it was so close to the court and he threw the ball onto the court before the second step
  • See Sofap144 (wtf is a sofap anyway) You are looking at it from a biased POV. you could say the same thing about other plays for the lakers, foul on lamar falling to the ground.
Paul Pierce hacking Gasol. Those plays are all over the place, and Ariza was not OB you morons.
My point stands, sofap and and cole_ely you didn't give me a concrete argument.
Fact: Lakers are top 5 in steals and that showed yesterday, when they clogged up numerous passing lanes (although C's had more steals).
Also plain and simple, Lakers drove to the hoop more than your beloved "C's".
Celtics played damn well my friends, better shooting percentage than Lakers, also more rebounds and steals. It was all about clogging the passing lanes and Lakers driving to the hoop more (the nine times Lakers stuffed the C's didn't hurt either :) ). Finally Lakers had 27 assists, which also helps you get to the line (4+ players had 5 or more, hence they were passing more than the C's).
Extra pass ussually leads to defense on their heels (C's) and a hasty foul by the defense. I wish you people knew what you were talking about... I'm tired of giving basketball lessons.

  • Funny , you wouold think we are June? Just showed the Lakers are good, the Celtics are good.!
Celtics stioo have a few bugs to work ouot, Rajon needs to shoot when under the basket, then they will respect when he is under there, then he needs to hit a few outside , then they will be really repect him more. Great kid growing up fast.

I do know if it was me, but it seemsed Celts got a little rattled and lost thier way , admit it or not the streaak and record was on thier mind.

8 FTs to 15 FTs isn't that much of a discrepancy in fouls. It's cool though; I see you guys have excuses for the loss to the Blazers too. At least y'all put a whoopin' on broke ass Sacto.
  • cry a river shizz, now nearly a month later I guess the refs must have screwed them for all those other losses.
How do those words taste? haha. Face the music Boston ain't all that. Shallow bench, old slow players, I could go on. And saying they were better because they're record was better was not a good argument. They are on the Least coast. It hard to have the best record out in the west where theres more than 3 good teams. Check the standings guy, most teams out here have more 20 wins unlike the east.
How dare you even complain about the refs when the first 2 games of the finals last year were won by the refs not the celtics. That series would probably have been a completely different story if the lakers didn't get screwed by the refs at home.
Maybe you don't watch the nba or can't afford cable but the lakers seemingly get screwed by the refs every game, but they still win most of the time unlike your little wheel chair needing, flopping boston wusses
I have no respect for paul pierce's flopping all over the place. Garnet is the only man on that team, and even he is someones bitch. So go beg the refs to let your team win the next game on the 5th. The Lakers of course play their second of a back to back that night so will that help stop your tears.
LA LAKERS 2009 NBA CHAMPIONS- Just wait if you doubt.
