Dallas Stars To Play Detroit After Win in 4-OT-thriller

The Dallas Stars have finally made it back to the Western Conference finals. It took the eighth longest game in NHL history to do it. Brenden Morrow scored a power play goal 9:03 into the fourth overtime as the Stars eliminated the pesky San Jose Sharks 2-1 in a game that ended early Monday morning -- the longest game in the NHL playoffs this season, and the longest in San Jose history.

Yes, it was. Stayed up until 3:00 a.m. so I could get tickets for the series with Detroit. I didn't think this one was going to end. Wow!!!

Thanks. I may be propping my eyelids open today with toothpicks. That glove save by the Sharks goalie was just incredible when he stretched out and got that one. I thought it might be over then. Props to the goalies. They earned their money. Turco had to face more shots on goal, too.

At the end of each OT, I kept thinking to myself "You know what Detroit's doing right now? Resting." And when Vs. decided to show last year's goal against Vancouver I almost wrote the network their first irate letter. Let's do this Dallas.....

Yeah.......at least Dallas didn't have to go back to San Jose for a Game 7 after this one. That would have really been bad on the bodies. Thanks.

No way they go back to San Jose and win a game seven after losing 3 in a row including a four OT game.

Just never know about those things. They play San Jose well out there. Just as good as any team in the league over the last couple of years. I really expected San Jose to win last night with as many shots as they were getting on goal, but Turco hung in there like a champ.
