SUNDIN ON BROADWAY !
THE NYR CAN MAKE THIS POSSIBLE WITH SOME MINOR CHANGES. THEY WILL NEED TO SHED SOME SALARY BUT IN ALL NOTTING THAT MAJOR.THEY MAY NEED TO BRING UP ONE OF THIER YOUNG DEFENCEMAN SAY MAYBE SANGUINETTI OR WHOEVER THEY FEEL WILL BE A GOOD FIT. I DONT SEE THIS BEING THE PROBLEM IN MAKING THIS MOVE POSSIBLE . SUNDIN WILL ENHANCE THIS TEAM FROM DAY ONE HE WILL GIVE OUR YOUNG GUYS MORE SPACE ON THE ICE TO IMPROVE AND DEVELOP THIER GAME THE YOUNG GUYS WILL THRIVE WITH HIM ON THE TEAM IT ALSO MAKES SENSE FOR BOTH PARTIES INVOLVED .THIS MOVE WILL PROVE TO BENIFIT THE CAREER OF SUNDIN HE WILL BE UNDER THE SPOT LIGHTS OF BROADWAY WERE I FEEL HE WILL BE NOTICED FOR THE GREAT PLAYER HE IS .FROM A MARKETING STAND POINT IM SURE THIS MOVE WILL BE EVEN MORE BENIFICIAL,NYR SUNDIN JERSEYS WILL BE EVERYWHERE ,IF THE FRONT OFFICE STEPS UP AND MAKES THIS HAPPEN LOSING JAGR WILL BE FORGOTTEN QUICKLY, I REALLY HOPE THEY DONT THINK NASLUND WAS THE ANSWER TO THAT , IF THATS THE CASE WERE IN TROBLE .THIS MOVE IS A NO BRAINER SO MAKE THE DEAL . LETS GO RANGERS ! TO ALL MY TRUE BLUE DIE HARD NYR FANS I ASK YOU ALL TO PLEAD THIS CASE . SUNDIN ON BROADWAY ! YES IM YELLING IT OUT .

2nd of all - Sundin to the Rangers has already been shot down by NY.
Do you do any research before you post your drivel?
Let's say this WAS a possibility, despite the fact that it's been debunked multiple times.
Sundin will get at LEAST $7M per. The Rangers currently sit at $52.4M - the Cap is $56M.
We'd have to dump AT LEAST $7M to sign Sundin, as we need some cushion under the cap for call-ups, etc.
Sundin is a 1st line center. That pushes Gomez to the second line and Drury to the third, or to Gomez' wing which Drury has difficulty playing.
NEVERMIND the fact that NY has committed $8M to Gomez, $7M to Drury, $6.5M to Redden, and $7.75M to Lundquist for next year.
That's approximately $29M committed to just 4 players next year.
and EVERY ONE OF THEM HAS A NO TRADE CLAUSE.
So, where do you propose the Rangers cut $7M to add Sundin, (who would likely only sign for a year, maybe two) just to bury the two centers we committed to for the next 4 years?
No Brainer?
Do you even think before you post this drivel?

Unless the NHLPA agrees to extend it, there are NO bonus clauses for next year.
That's right, None.
Because, if there is to be a NEW collective bargaining agreement, the NHL does NOT want any money carrying over in the form of bonuses.
That's yet another reason why Slats and Jagr parted ways.
read here: TSN talks all about it and it's been confirmed by the NHL.

Jeez dude, do you do ANY research before you type your idiotic all caps idiocy?

Do some research. please.
here's John Dellapina of teh NY Daily News relaying an email from the NHL regarding no bonuses:

Jagr's previous deal was the only one that survived the last CBA, it is the EXACT reason why the "no bonus in the final year" clause is in place in the last year of the CBAs going forward.
It's called research - look into it.

And, I notice NO COMMENT again when I offer you facts that scuttle your wild statements.
Whoops! NO more Bonus clauses!
Tell us, oh great prognosticator - how EXACTLY will the Rangers shed cap space to fit Sundin at $7M per?
None of this "shift a little here and there".
Tell us who goes, and how it will work.
Good luck.
Oh, wait .
Liars "don't need to explain" themselves.
Well, that just discounts you as a credible source..
good luck with your lies, I won't do your research for you anymore.
I'm done with you and your fantasies that have no basis in reality because you choose to ignore the real world facts that scuttle your beliefs.
and, um - a REAL blog is hosted on your own site, not on yardbarker.
I'd direct you to mine, but since you prefer not to bother with facts, i won't bother.

What I am talking about (and the NHL is referring to) is that bonuses that would add up to more than the $56M cap are not allowed.
Bonuses you can fit UNDER the cap are.
Hence, Sundin or Jagr weren't options to sign to a bonus deal that would add up to more than $56M this year, so neither were offered one.
Read the Dellapina article.
research is an amazing thing...
you should look into it!

You need to be more clear when you write if that's what you meant.
Never said I didn't want Sundin, just said we can't fit him and He's NOT on the Rangers radar anymore. I would have killed for a Sunding/jagr signing.
Slats went the other way, and even made the mistake of not re-sigtning Avery.
The team is different now and Sather has remade it completely.
FYI:
The Rangers owe next year:
Prucha - 1.6M
Mara - 1.95
Kalinen got a no movement clause when he signed two weeks back.
So those three won't cut it.
Next season we have committed
$8M to Gomez
$7.1M to Drury
$5M to Naslund
$3.25M to Zherdev (the best move of the summer for NY)
$6.5M for Redden (No trade Clause)
$5M for Rozsival
$2.1 for Kalinen (No movement clause)
$7.75 for Lundqvist
That's around $44M for those players, NOT counting Dan Fritsche who just signed for an unknown amount (rumoured to be $875K)
the cap is $56M
Even if NYR Dumps
Prucha($1.6M),
Mara($1.95M),
Girardi($1.5M But we'd be fools to trade him), and
Rismiller ($1M)
that's less than $6M, not enough room.
If somehow miraculously they signed Sundin,
That means we'd have 5 Centers, few wings, no room to sign Shanahan, and and with a weaker defense playing in front of King Henrik.
just saying, based on the Facts,
it ain't gonna happen.
Wishing and hoping won't make it so.
