5 Reasons to KEEP LITO!

We should keep Lito Sheppard an Eagle, here are 5 reasons why: 1. Lito is a total professional. He has proven this by showing up for training camp and not making his issues too public or distracting - we and the media are the ones obsessing over it. Yes, he had recently signed an extension, but wouldn't anyone want a little more cash too if a free agent of equal caliber ( I say equal skill-wise, the main difference between the two is just staying healthy) is being paid so much more. 2. Lito is a Pro Bowl cornerback. His skills are undeniable, he makes picks, he takes them to the house. How many Cowboys games has he kept us in or flat out won. As a fellow barker said, Lito's got a great repoir with the Dallas QBs. 3. Keeping Lito would make our secondary (and possibly our entire D) the best in the league. A rotation or starting lineup of Asante Samuel, Lito, Sheldon Brown, Weapon X, and Quentin Mikells would be fearsome. Lito and Asante baiting QBs all day, turning INTs into TDs, while Sheldon can light up anyone going across the middle or RBs on run plays. The spread offense with three or more receivers is definitely the newest trend, so we might as well stay ready for it with three starting caliber DBs. 4. Trying to trade Lito has not proven worthwhile. He isn't garnering the attention or drafts picks we're interested in. Lito is worth way more than a 2nd round pick plus, we spent a 1st on him ourselves. Why trade him for less than his value. Cough up a little extra dough and keep Lito and create an all star secondary. We got plenty of cash and he has done this the right way. It would also send the message to other Eagles that the FO does care about their own and that issues can be resolved with a professional attitude. 5. Lito wants to be an Eagle (my opinion). Yesterday he talked of how excited he is about the team and its defensive additions. Seriously, if Lito can stay healthy, he'll have one of his best seasons ever. Health has been his only issue, and can that really be blamed on him? - it happens. So stop demanding a troubled, over-demanding WR (Ocho Cinco or Roy Williams or whoever), who doesn't want to be here or only cares about a paycheck. Stop petitioning for the FO to sign undrafted rookies who we dream will win us the Super Bowl this year (Adarius Bowman?). Lito cares about his money, but he also cares about this team. He is a proven Pro Bowler and is a mere full season away from being considered a superstar once again. KEEP LITO!

The eagles FO knows whats best they aren't stupid, The only way the eagles let Lito go, is if we can get something more valuable to our team in return.

  • Great. I agree. I would also say that the eagles could maybe use a nickel more

they use the nickel whenever we need to use the nickel, they aren't any more situations where we could use it.
      • We could have all three on the field at the same time in several different schemes, we know Jim Johnson can find a way to maximize all their talents. Put em all out there and let them do their thing.
    • Exactly, put em all on the field and let them do their thing!

Totally agree. The way Lito has handled this situation makes me want to see him rewarded. There's no question he's a great player and the eagles will be better with him than without (even if they have to pay him more). I don't think the Eagles owe him Asante dollars. I mean Lito did sign the long term deal, but he's payed way less than market so there is room for both sides to meet in the middle.

  • Here are 10 reasons to trade Lito
    1. WE NEED A WR
    2. WE NEED A WR
    3. WE NEED A WR
    4. WE NEED A WR
    5. WE NEED A WR
    6. WE DON'T NEED 3 Pro Bowl Corners
    7. U CANNOT JUSTIFY HIS CONTRACT WHEN HE WILL ONLY PLAY NICKEL
    8. HE IS INJURY PRONE
    9. TRADE HIM NOW BEFORE HE GETS HURT AGAIN AND LOSES ALL TRADE VALUE
    10. He wasn't initially cooperative, only after he realized he wasn't getting paid by holding out did he decide to come to camp. Make no mistake, Lito is not at minicamp b/c he wants to be an eagle, or b/c he has considered his contract situation and believes he must fulfill his contractual obligation. It is only because of his DRIVE FOR MONEY that he is at minicamp. He hopes that behaving well may make other teams offer more for him, and thus make the Eagles pull the trigger, or hopes that the Eagles will have a change of heart after he handles himself this way. Money rules Lito's morals, don't ever claim otherwise.
