CLICK the link for the full article & sorry if this is a double post !! The Larry Fitzgerald-to-the- Eagles trade scenario takes on new intrigue daily, with a report surfacing Friday that the Eagles have submitted a trade offer to Arizona to obtain the Pro Bowl wide receiver. -LIto wants more money or out
-The Eagles want a true number one WR
We can hopefully please both parties. The Eagles will make this happen. They are trying to make a deal without giving up the house. If we can't get the job done, Lito will be traded for a draft pick problaby a 2nd. This is the situation I would like to see the least. I hope the team ponies up and gets a deal done. The Lions and Cardinals would love Lito, but we need to add enough to get the deal done. Throwing in Reggie Brown fills a receiver vacancy. They need to give up some picks to nail this down. The team nucleus is aging and if they are committed to making a run with this squad (McNabb, Westbrook, Dawkins, Runyan and Tre) it has to be NOW. Everyone relax, something will happen.
Fitzgerald is no longer negotiating. If Arizona says they are willing to pay him for this year, they also have to know that he will be gone next year (as they can not fulfill the $18 million he will be due then). If you are running this team, you have to see the writing on the wall and see how you can turn a bad situation into a good one by bringing in two quality players with low salaries and draft picks to reshape a suffering squad.
Fitzgerald holds all of the cards and he knows that if he does not re-negotiate that he will be traded. He can't speak about it publicly or he looks like a bad guy. His actions of not trying to work on a new deal is enough that we should believe he is forcing a move. The Eagles can not also admit to working on a trade because he is under contract with Arizona.
If you look at it rationally from both sides this will happen. I think Arizona is holding up to try to sweeten the deal from Philadelphia. Stay tuned... I predict it is done within a week and Larry is an Eagle.
