Phelps: He stands alone...GOLDEN 8 TIMES --- Only one to do so in 112 years --- 16 Total Metals

I just finished watching history, as have over 100 million world wide. Michael Phelps, with the help of his teammates set another world record and leaves these Olympic games in style. They won the men's 4x100, giving Michael Phelps his 8th gold metal of these 2008 Olympic Games, 7 of which were new world records. He leaves as the best Olympian in 112 years, if not the worlds best athlete ever in the history of sports. And through it all he did it with class. This is how it went down in the history books for his 8th Gold metal run. Lets take a look at this great athlete this past week. Michael Phelps won his record eighth gold medal Sunday at the Beijing Olympics as a member of the victorious U.S. 400-meter medley relay team, breaking a tie with Mark Spitz for most golds in a single games. Aaron Peirsol, Brendan Hansen, Phelps and Jason Lezak won in a world-record of 3 minutes, 29.34 seconds, lowering the old mark of 3:30.68 set four years ago in Athens. The U.S. swept the men's relays in Beijing, with Phelps leading off in the 400 and 800 free relays. Lezak anchored the 400 free to a narrow victory over France to preserve Phelps' historic bid. Michael Phelps, you're a class act.
