Hurricanes more of a tropical storm
After getting acclimated to the first few weeks of the NFL, it's always something of a jarring transition to start following hockey. Where in the NFL a handful of games early in the season can determine the course of a whole year, trying to make projections about how a hockey season is going to go based on the first month of play is a fool's errand. And yet, it's something that happens every year. This year, one of the surprise stories that has had the sports media talking is the Carolina Hurricanes taking charge of the Southeast Division early on this season, with an impressive 7-3-2 record. This is made even more impressive by the fact that they have played 8 of those games on the road, garnering 5-1-2 record away from the RBC Center. In a division that has traditionally been on the weaker side, this is something of a coup.
