The Legacy of John Wooden

Born and raised in rural south-central Indiana, John Robert Wooden learned a great deal from his surroundings, most notably from his parents. The lessons he would learn as a young boy stayed with him not only through his historic coaching career at the University of California, Los Angeles, but also as a husband, teacher and father. Both his tremendous journey to the top and unique outlook on life serve as an inspiration to all.
