Biggest Upset in College Football History?
Wow! Can you believe this game? The pre season #5 team in the country, the Michigan Wolverines, fall to two time Division 1AA Champion Appalachian State. Not only did the Mountaineers Block two field goals, but Sophomore quaterback Armanti Edwards threw for 226 yards and 3 TDs. Appalachian State actually had led by 11 points at one time, but with 4 minutes to play Michigan looked as if they were going to put the Mountaineers away for good when they intercepted Edwards. However, A-State kept coming at them and showed their Championship heart by blocking the game winning field goal as time expired. ESPN announced that it's the first time a ranked Division 1 team in the AP poll has ever lost to a 1AA squad. Lloyd Carr might have just sealed his fate as coach of the Wolverines.
