Proof that Kansas football is sort of a big deal

Think that Jayhawk fans aren't taking to the newfound success of their football team? Think again. Tickets for the Border Showdown are hotter than those for Hannah Montana concerts (God that's a horrible comparison). Saturday night the first group started camping for tickets to the KU-Mizzou game on 11/24 in Arrowhead Stadium. By the time the ticket office opened on Monday morning, the line passed Allen Fieldhouse and spanned an entire block. The picture below only shows a tiny portion of the line. My group was halfway through the line, and we didn't get tickets until 2:30 p.m. And the ticket office opened at 9 a.m. There was some controversey in line. Stories say that some of the groups near the front took bribes from other students. They got paid hundreds to camp for other students and get them a ticket. That pissed me off because now I'm stuck in the nosebleeds (thanks Lew Perkins), but that's another story. According to Kansas Athletics, more than 8,000 student tickets were sold. I guess it's official: Kansas is a two-sport school... at least this year.
