Longhorns McCoy Set School Record in 63-31 Win

The game started off a bit rough for Texas as Baylor jumped out to a 10-0 lead. The Longhorns defense seemed a bit confused by the Bears attack, and quarterback McCoy opened the game 2/6 and 1 interception. Then Texas took over. One play into the 2nd quarter Texas DE Tim Crowder sacked Shawn Bell, forcing a fumble that was recovered by Derek Lokey at the Baylor 29. McCoy came out after the intial poor start and lit up the Baylor secondary. He finished the day 21/32 for 275 yards and a school record 6 touchdowns. The record had previously been 5, held by Chris Simms and James Brown. It seems Colt McCoy has developed into a dangerous quarterback that will likely plague the rest of the Big 12 for at least another few seasons. In the half season he has played he has matured quickly, and has become a tremendous asset to the Longhorns team. Plus, with their relatively easy schedule, it doesn't seem like McCoy will be facing another Ohio State that could trip him up.
