McCoy Sets Another Record in 36-10 Victory Over Ok. St.
When McCoy was named the starter this summer many thought that he would be challenged by true freshman quarterback Jevan Snead. But now, after 10 games, the starting quarterback for the Longhorns has so much job security it would take nothing short of a 2-3 week meltdown for a controversy to crop up. Part of it is ue to his leadership ability in the huddle, and a lot of it has to do with his accolades. As a redshit freshman McCoy has already set the Texas single-game passing touchdown record (6), broke the season TD record for a freshman, and yesterday against Oklahoma State, his three TDs broke the Texas all-time single season passing TD record (26), which was held by Chris Simms (2002) and Vince Young (2005). McCoy now stands at 27, and still has two more games and a conference title game to play before all is said and done. The young QB also was an efficient 23/29 for a career best 346 yards. Anyone else think this guy is going to be special?
