That Texas Tech can score, in bunches, is no surprise; every since Mike Leach took over as coach in 2000, the Red Raiders offense has ranked among the top five units in the nation. What makes the 2008 Raiders a serious threat for breaking into the B.C.S. is an improved defense, which may only need to keep teams under 30 to get the team to 10 wins. Of course, to reach the B.C.S. the Red Raiders will first have to get through the Big 12; more specifically, the team must get through a tough Big 12 South, which will again pit Tech against Texas and Oklahoma, among others.
